Villas Costa Papagayo

The privacy and the space. The accommodation was well equipped.

Nothing really - it was more than we expected but another toilet would have been good but no essential. There is so much space in this villa.

• Location - conveniently located 10 minutes walk from Playa Blanca and approximately 20 minutes to Marina Rubicon. • Villa - great positioning with sun throughout the day over the pool and pool area, making it perfect to get sun all day long. The villa itself is spacious and comfortable, kitchen is well equipped for a small family to manage a week. Nice patio with a small integrated barbecue and a large table seating 6 people.

• Villa - we had a lot of trouble finding especially at night because the number system does not make a lot of sense and the online instructions did not mention whether we needed to enter the complex or not - we entered the complex and we roamed around for a good 10-15 minutes trying to locate it, only for the villa to be right outside the main entrance to the complex. • Equipment - while the kitchen is well equipped for a small family to manage a week, the bathroom and has only 2 small bottles of what I assume is shower gel/ shampoo per person, not even hand soap. In the instructions sent through Booking, you are given all the Output and Extra Charges and are provided with broom and pan, a bucket and mop, but no cleaning solution… now this is designed like a home so it only makes sense to have some cleaning supplies since you are going to have to clean around but some things are done as an afterthought. Roaches - we found them from the first night we got in. They were all over the kitchen floor including the drawers. The first thing we did the next day was to buy some small traps and did not see for the rest of our stay except sometimes in the bathroom. Bathroom - this is only in relation to Villa 24 - by the end of our stay I was sorry for not requesting a different villa because of the bathroom. There is not step at the shower making all the water come out of the shower into the bathroom. The bathroom has an inclination towards the middle making it impossible to keep water on the shower tray without a step. I was tired of scooping water several times a day by the end of our week there and we were only a couple but kind you the villa has 3 bedroom so imagine how showering would be for 5-6 people.

Excellent location. Short walk to Aldi and nearby restaurants in village. The villa was spacious with a large private patio and a small balcony (from which you could see the island of Fuerteventura). Riccardo, the manager was very nice and helpful. We requested an oven dish which was promptly delivered. The villa was bright and light and the outdoor eating area was fantastic with a very large, good quality, table and chairs for 6 people. We were pleased to have two bathrooms. We were there during Carnival which started near our villa and was spectacular to see.

We lost Wifi connection a few times which meant the smart tv would not work at all but Riccardo was apologetic and did his best to fix this for us. The pool was cold and not heated but we knew this before we booked.

We really liked the location of the villa, so easy to walk everywhere. It felt quite private and the grounds were spacious and well maintained. The unheated pool was very useable when we stayed in March and was big enough for swimming as adults, and it was a good depth. Inside the villa the rooms were all of a good size and the beds were comfy. The TV was excellent quality and allowed us to sign into Amazon Prime etc. It was exceptionally quiet inside and the air con was in most of the rooms and worked very well. The built in BBQ outside was a nice addition. We had trouble with the WiFi early on in our stay which I reported, and the next morning someone came to repair it which was great.

We felt the villa could have been slightly better equipped with some kitchen items such as chopping boards, more plates etc but we managed fine as there was only 2 of us. It would also have been nice to have some hand soap for the bathroom and more than one bath towel each as we stayed for 10 days. All minor things though as Supermarkets were nearby and we washed our own towels during our stay.

Villa 10 was exceptionally clean and very spacious. All rooms are a great size with lots and lots of storage. The kitchen is well equipped but could do with some additional dishes. If we return to stay longer next time we’d bring some bits from home to help making the odd meal if we prefer to stay home. If we were to be picky we’d suggest a pool cover for night time as the pool is always full of stuff floating around. Our weather was unfortunately not good enough to use the pool on this occasion. There are two shops close by - Aldi is around a 7/10 minute walk, with another small one across the road at Caybeach Sun for fresh bread and other essentials. Some coasters for mugs and glasses on the tables would help save them being marked. We “acquired” two beer mats from a bar to use during our stay.

There was nothing we didn’t like but would mention that there are two short steep slopes, one entering the development and another through the gate to the property which can be difficult to navigate if you have mobility issues. Hand rails would help.

It was very comfortable and centrally located.
