Mao Mao surf

Fabulous spot with ethereal rooms that are super comfy. A great experience.

The staff were very friendly, we felt like the part of the Mao Mao family! The rooms are comfortable even without an AC, we needed 4 fans. The breakfast served here is amazing! We'll come back for sure!

We liked the overall ambience at the property. The owners and staffs are super friendly, to be honest, it felt like visiting relatives you haven’t seen in a while! Took me a while before writing a review, it breaks my heart knowing we already left this place! They organised most of our activities: surf sessions, island tours, airport pick ups, motorbike rentals, in-house massage, list of places to dine at. They made our honeymoon run smoothly, introduced us to the best people and places in Siargao, and gave us the best memories of our lives! You’re not booking just a property to stay at, it’s a whole vibe and experience you’re booking with Maomao Surf!

Breakfast so good I gained 3 kilos. Staffs so friendly and ambience so homey - now we are saving up to go back next year!!

We had an extraordinary stay at MaoMao Surf. The little houses are even more beautiful than on the pictures. The outdoor bathroom is really nice and the room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and there were enough fan’s in the room. The staff is really friendly and all in all it was really nice. We rented a bike which was really nice and also we did a surf lesson which I would really recommend.

Just minor details, I was not the biggest fan of these sheets, I prefer cotton or linen. Something that did not bother me because I had good earplugs, but it is something to be prepared for is that hostel next door plays really loud music until late so earplugs were needed for sleeping.

The design of this hotel will make you feel like you are back in the jungle and nature, with many things made of bamboo, including the showers. We love it!!! It’s a nice place to relax. The staff is very friendly and welcoming! The breakfast is also very delicious. It is the best breakfast I have had on the island😋 The hotel also offers surfing lessons with drone filming. Their instructors are very professional and they can do surf analysis after the lesson according to the drone films to correct problems and improve surf skills! Btw, there are many fans in the room although no AC. It doesn’t matter.

It would be nice if the bathroom had a curtain to prevent water from splashing onto the floor outside

Staying at Mao Mao was everything I expected and then some. Everyone from the receptionist to the surf instrocturs was super helpful and welcoming. The rooms are nice and the public area is fantastic to chill, read and meet new people. If you're interested in staying in a lovely place, meeting lovely people and improve your surfing, this place is for you!

You get power outages on the island from time to time. Siargao is not the Maldives, so don't expect 5 star comfort and you'll have a great time!

The huts are cute and is a quiet environment to stay in. Breakfast is good and the reception has nice area to relax.

There is no aircon in the room and there were some electricity works going on, we struggled to sleep.
