La Macadamia - Monteverde

Guillermo met us at the front as we entered the main gate. He was the most amazing host and we knew we were in good hands with him.

You drive in and the grounds are very well maintained. The house was clean and very comfortable. There was plenty of wildlife. We saw a low of birds - toucans, parrots, chachalacas, guans, agoutis. There were coyotes howling every night quite close to the compound. The huge shower was especially nice. It's only a couple minutes' drive to the town of Santa Elena and maybe 10 minutes from both of the largest nature reserves, Monteverde and Reserva Santa Elena. I've stayed in Monte Verde several times, and this was on of the most enjoyable.

Nice and spacious bungalow next to Santa Elena/Monteverde. Well equiped and complete place. Also a Washing machine, thumble dryer and laundry soap available. There was a baby bed available although not displayed on booking. There is AC, but didnt use it as the temperature was nice.

We were met by the host and he led us to the cottage we were staying in. Quiet and secluded and secure property. Roads within the property were recently all paved with asphalt. Washer & Dryer was a needed amenity along with the complementary sodas in the fridge. A local grocery store only a half mile away. Got up at 2 am and saw the most splendid display of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Very quiet and safe environment, not far from the town. Owner is very helpful. My dad forgot his wallet and the owner made sure it arrived safely at our next destination.

I’m not sure if the owner speaks English and we could only pay in cash.

Spacious, new, stocked kitchen, ac worked well, safe, gated property, quiet, edge of town, best to have a car

The staff requires payment in cash, which was a negative surprice.

Wonderful villa. Clean and comfortable. Wonderfully furnished.

Dogs. Dogs. Dogs. This property is in a neighborhood full of dogs and they bark all night long. No sleep for us. Expecting to hear birds and frogs and Costa Rica wildlife. We heard domestic dogs, near and far. Very unhappy. Will not return.
