View, pool area. Quiet House keeping lady was amazing and helped me out with a medical incident.

We were in honeymoon suite. I would supply towels to the private jacuzzi and an umbrella. And a Mat at the door as the tiles are slippery. We went over Christmas and because we didn't option for the R695 per person lunch and didn't know they would be opening the lunch to non hotel members and closing the restaurant to us we actually left a day early as we couldn't eat lunch anywhere even the KFC closed down the road. Breakfast was nice and only Christmas day did they not bring me my toast and under cooked the pork sausages but offering either a small glass of juice or a coffee seemed a little cheap. Oh and when we arrived reception is dark and disorganised even though it was 2 o'clock and when we left early we couldn't tell anyone as no one was in reception. 9am I went back and told the waitering staff. Drive into the property is not great but not for a long distance. Rain made it worse though .

This accommodation is very misleadingly represented on Booking.com. Access to the property requires approximately 10 minutes of off-road driving, and a 4x4 vehicle is essential — this is not clearly disclosed. The property itself is poorly maintained and lacks basic guest comfort considerations. While it is understandable that the accommodation is located in a bush setting, there appears to be little to no effort made to manage insects. There were significant issues with mosquitoes, fruit flies, spiders, and other bugs throughout the stay. No preventative measures were in place, such as mosquito nets over the beds, room fumigation, candles, or repellents in dining areas. The room was inadequately cleaned, and a coffee table containing dead insects as a decorative feature was particularly unpleasant and off-putting. During dinner, insects continuously flew into our food and hair, making the experience extremely uncomfortable. At night, bugs were flying around the room and onto our faces, making sleep nearly impossible. Using a phone with the light on attracted even more insects. Both my fiancé and I left with multiple insect bites. This booking was made to celebrate my fiancé’s 30th birthday, which made the experience even more disappointing. We had booked for two nights but checked out after one miserable, sleepless night. This was a complete waste of money, and I would not recommend this accommodation. While being in the bush naturally comes with insects, it is reasonable to expect that the establishment takes basic measures to minimise discomfort and ensure guest wellbeing. This level of neglect shows a lack of consideration for guests.

The lodge is beautifully located and offers a peaceful, remote escape. The rugged road leading up to the property adds to the “real getaway” feeling, though I’d recommend a vehicle with decent ground clearance. The staff were warm and welcoming, the restaurant team was excellent, and the food and views from the deck were outstanding. The luxury tents are a brilliant touch for this setting, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
