Quirky Retreats - The Old Stable

Impeccably clean and well kept. Great facilities. Loved the access to the private garden and balcony. Heating system was great. Lovely bathtub for soaks. Loved it! Ellie was brilliant in responding to text queries if we had any problems. Lovely little village as well. Was perfect for a cosy family retreat before the end of the year.

Some of the shutters were broken. I think the kitchen could have been better stocked with utensils, spices, salt and pepper etc to make it easier to cook for the family.

Loved everything about the place!! So warm and cozy

Bins you had to walk past to enter property were overflowing with rubbish and had an awful smell. Also, in the downstairs outdoor area hadn’t been cleaned as there was beer bottles and vomit on the floor. I imagine this was overlooked by mistake as the rest of the property was immaculate.

Property was in a good, central location. Beds were comfortable and the property was quiet.

The entrance is a mess with rubbish very close to the front door. The outdoor space downstairs couldn’t be used as it smelt awful and was littered with dog poo. Kitchen really poorly equipped: 4 wine glasses in a house for 6 people? Dishwasher interior broken so stacking made really difficult and the oven regularly turned itself off. No salt, pepper or even a cloth to wipe the table or clean a dish. None of the 6 who stayed would recommend or return.

There were a few little bits which could be better- broken dishwasher draw, only 4 forks provided, bottles in the courtyard when we arrived, no clarity where to put rubbish, damp spot on the ceiling of one of the downstair bedrooms, loud pipes in the front bedroom. (None of the above would stop up returning and are only mentioned to highlight them to the owner so they are aware!).

Really nicely done, big television in each room, big bedrooms,lovely bathrooms Enjoyable stay Just a few miles from Windermere.

Smell of possible wood treatment,quite strong to begin with mainly in hallway But did ease off a bit

The barn conversion was beautiful. Decorated lovely throughout.

Couldn't find light switch for upstairs entertainment area. Having to take our rubbish with us because there was nowhere in or out to put it. No RED biffa bin. Not being able to park on the property itself. In the bathroom upstairs there was toothpaste on the walls that hadn't been cleaned. Instructions would have been nice to show how you use coffee machine. Dishwasher etc etc. The 10am leaving time could be moved to at least 11.
