Sunyi Villas

My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids under 10 years old) stayed in villa 5 for 6 nights. Some of the reviews gave us pause, but the price was right for us for the amenities we were looking for (private pool, 2 bedrooms on 1 level). Other reviews that characterized that the villa is a bit worse for the wear aren’t wrong. The villa is certainly not new, but we still found it to be in decent-good shape, recognizing how hard the tropics are buildings, furniture, and all the things. We found the furnishings to be tasteful and in good state, and the pool was fantastic (we used it a ton, and it felt clean and looked clear despite a slightly greenish hue!). Daily housekeeping was very good (left the villa very clean), on-site laundry service was affordable and prompt, and there were other nice details (e.g., slippers, robes, cold cups in the freezer, toiletries). On- and off-site management were really responsive with issues we raised and flexible in allowing us a later check-out. Overall, we would stay again. We loved the private pool and proximity to great massages at neighboring Mana, as well as many food options on the main drag (10ish minute walk, but not our favorite to do at night), as well as a good warung just across the street.

On the less good side, some of the white linens were stained (but we were happy to have pool towels available!) the living room AC was really struggling, and the kitchen was not what I would call well-equipped—though we were immediately brought a frying pan when we requested one - there was none - so perhaps we would’ve gotten other things, had we asked for them. Our first night and day were a bit rough, with a power outage in the night that had us sweating more than sleeping. (It didn’t occur to us to write to the grounds staff when it happened, so perhaps that’s our bad. It was relatively easily resolved the next morning when we did write.) Then there was a town-wide power outage. Not the villa's fault and it didn't last long, but it's not like these things don't happen. The door jambs and some latticed details meant the living room was quite mosquitoey in the evenings and required precautions in the bedrooms (carefully and completely closing the sliding doors, firmly and closing the curtains to block the draw of the light).

Our Villa that we were initially given had a number of maintenance issues, but the owner (Liz) and her Manager (David), quickly sorted this out and put us in a better villa. The overall support from the Liz and David was excellent through out our stay which was greatly appreciated.

The whole booking process was very smooth, communication was smooth if there was a problem, the paid shuttle was very convenient, the room was very clean, you could cook, and the housekeeper cleaned it every day! Very, very good villa, will recommend to friends to book!

Big Villa and plenty of space to relax at.

Could do with a deep clean and some maintenance as bit tired. Replace the sheets and towels as they look grey and dirty even if these have been washed.

Villa needs to be refurbished. Lots of mosquito and crawlies. Maintenance lacking. Villa has stale and leftover smell e.g. BBQ. Twice had black out and no water supplies.

Nice and spacious

The water bottle dispenser kept beeping and we reported it to the staff who came and looked at it but then it started beeping again after they left. Could hear it from the bedroom.

Breakfast NA. Nothing interesting. Living room warm

Aircon stopped in the middle of the night.

Breakfast was not included.

Villa 5 the nearby road was very busy and noisy.
