Magatama Villa by Mahaputra

The staff were incredible. They went above and beyond. If you needed anything they were there to help. The view from the villa was incredible, it was the best location I have ever had breakfast: The bed was very comfortable and the staff did an amazing job making up the room everyday.

Drivers always got lost finding the resort. They would always take a wrong turn. The pool water is a little too cold to use except for when it is a very hot day and the sun shines on the pool.

- We expected the experience that we had (from pictures and descriptions provided) - The service and staff were great (as usual in Bali) - Motorbikes provided by the hotel. - A little bit more secluded area (it was what we were looking for). As a consequence, there was an electricity cut in the area but they were diligent in solving the problem in a few minutes. Those minutes were special too as we were in a special solitude.

Going to the room from and to the main road required some effort as it was a steep short way. Not much inconvenience for us but maybe for old people.

Friendly staff who explained all the info about the room in detail. The bathtub and views were gorgeous, the room and bed were nice and comfy.

The restaurant was closed/being renovated, the pool was empty because of recent issues.. The staff didn't mention this upon arrival, only that meals would be served in the room which was odd but we didn't think anything of it. I went down on the property to find an empty pool, and only when asking about the restaurant later we found out it was closed, so meals came from elsewhere which explained why it took a long time. We decided to leave early because I was looking forward to laps in the pool with a river view, and having dinner in the restaurant instead of the room. I mentioned this to the staff as well, that I believe it's better to be transparent upon arrival, so we could have decided if we still wanted to stay. Instead they let us find out, and we left early. You have to fill the water yourself via a water dispenser on a different level which I fine, but I believe its part of the hospitality experience that guests have enough inroom water.

The cleanliness and staff were superb. The villa was gorgeous and everything one needs. The view is absolutely stunning. Regardless of the lack of activities on the premises, the local region is authentic and not popular amongst tourists, which was definitely a plus. However, this naturally does result in a lack of services within the region. For anyone wanting to order food or taxis on mobile applications like GoJek or Grab, the location is not suitable for that. This is just up to one’s individual preferences and doesnt affect my grading of the accomodation.

The public pool was out of service without any prior announcement. Wasn’t a deal breaker for us tho, as our villa had its own smaller pool. Food was decent, but not the greatest. The resort premises lack any activity. We would’ve loved to see a small bar with drinks, or a sit-in restaurant instead of having food delivered to our room.

The hotel is composed of small houses. We stayed in Bambu which has a swimming pool. The area is very quiet, in the nature. The view on the terrace rice field is stunning. The staff is very friendly. We had a great time. The location and experience was beyond our expectations.

Location is great to explore nature and waterfalls around in Northern Bali. Own small pool with a great view! Stable internet with no connection issues.

Big mail pool has been under construction for ages it seems (read through older comments). Gets very humid in the villa with beddings becoming very wet. Old and rundown hut with broken fittings, bathroom leaking during rain. Bathroom view is beautiful but the layout is bit impractical specially the tiny wash basin and giant bathtub. Food served is way below average, specially when we had no choice but to take it as we stayed during Nyepi / Silent day. Don’t recommend renting scooter from them. New ones and maintained but the whole experience of signing documents, explanation of liability, check of licences, etc is so complicated and untrustworthy that it mentally bums you down for rest of the day and feels insecure which happens nowhere in Bali!!

Breakfast was really good, but dinner and lunch not so good.

The villa was awesome! Private pool by the jungle was so calming and peaceful. All the staff were extra helpfu, even the owner. Good worth for the money.

The place is a bit secluded, and the food order from the villa closes 8 or 9 pm (if i can remembercorrectly) while the nearby restaurants also takes last order by that time as well. So if you get hungry a bit late at night, you better have brought something with you. And it seems that the outdoor pool has been closed for a long time already, and not temporarily.
