Kalidasa Tree House and Villa,Wayanad

Wat een heerlijke plek; gelegen in een klein dalletje, tussen mooie bomen en een vrij zicht vanaf je balkon op het bos en zijn dieren. De familie is uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam en zorgde er met z’n allen voor dat we een zalig en relaxed verblijf hadden. We werden geholpen met transport, safari’s en kregen steeds heerlijk Indiase maaltijden geserveerd. De familie teelt zelfs veel biologisch voedsel dat steeds terugkwam in de maaltijden. De boomhut geeft een mooie blik over al het groen en geeft veel privacy. De voorziening zijn schoon en werken goed en passen geheel bij wat je mag verwachten van een leuke boomhut locatie. Kortom, een fantastische locatie waar men met liefde er alles aan doet om je een heerlijk verblijf te bieden. Wij kijken of we op de terugweg nog een paar daagjes kunnen langsgaan.

Very neat and clean and a really nice drive from Bangalore. Host Mr.Sudheesh was really nice and accommodating with our requests.

Sudeesh and his family are excellent hosts with a love to serve. They have a wonderful property which they maintain with much care! We had a great time and tasty food

The service of Sudheesh is outstanding! The food is amazing and the treehouse is wonderful. Thanks a lot for helping us out to explore the surroundings. We had three amazing days in the jungle!

This place is surrounded by coffee, cinnamon, tamarind, coconut trees, birds singing including wild peacocks displaying in the garden, spotted deer wandering through and dozens of butterflies. It is beautiful and quiet. The family are exceptionally helpful and organised a local massage (good one) a night keep safari to an ancient temple during which we saw a sloth bear, mouse deer, Indian bison and lots of elephants. And we went on a keep safari to Nagarhole national park whip is full of birds and animals too. The house is a short walk from Kuruva island which was a lovely place to walk and sit by the river.

We had the most wonderful stay in Kalidasa Tree House and would give it 11 out of 10 if we could. The treehouse itself is amazing - really well designed and constructed, very comfortable and with wonderful views into the surrounding forest. For bird enthusiasts it is a real treat with so many species and wonderful birdsong. The area is just beautiful - so quiet, peaceful and scenic. The treehouse is really well placed for trips out - we had a wonderful couple of visits to the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve (driven by Namshi the excellent taxi driver and guide), and we also really enjoyed our trip to Kuruva Island which is very close by, and also several local walks that Sudheesh advised us on. We want to reserve our highest praise for the hosts Sudheesh and Jodi who were the kindest most hospitable and attentive hosts you could possibly wish for. Sudheesh was always available to help and his advice was great. We also really appreciated the early morning coffee and tea he brought us on our terrace. And Jodi is just the best cook! We had the tastiest food we have had in Kerala during our 4 night stay, with lots of variety and wonderful flavours. The whole family made us feel so welcome. We recommend Kalidasa Treehouse without hesitation. We had the best time!

Amazing view, very kindly people and the food was fantastic! Very nice accommodation to stay to escape from the cities. The host helped us with arranging tickets for the safari which was an once in a lifetime experience!

We had a lovely time staying at the tree house - it is very cozy and the view from the balcony is stunning. You can hear so many different birds during the day, and all sorts of other wild things at night too. If you decide to stay here bring a pair of binoculars and keep an eye out for the bird and wild orchids on the surrounding trees! The location is beautiful - there are some nice little walks you can do to and around the riverside, and Kuruva island is a must visit if you enjoy taking your time bird and orchid spotting! Honestly the surroundings were magical and I am so glad we decided to take a short break here away from the crazy towns and cities. The home cooked meals were lovely, and we were lucky enough to have a chance to watch and learn some Keralan style cooking. Thank you very much to kind and welcoming our hosts!
