Luxurious royal estate in historic Sintra paradise

We LOVED the house, it was VERY well equipped with all the amenities that one would expect. The fact it was decorated as per the owners taste (and history) really made it feel EVEN MORE welcoming (NOT another cold or neutral AIRBNB.. with a minimal dab of art). Now note, it isn’t,a modern decoration with clean straight lines - it’s a getaway at your best friend’s parents’ house …if they were “Old Money” and classy!!

Nothing …that I didn’t like or could complain of.. At most, I would have liked the pool to be heated and the garden to have more lighting. Even so, my sister and girlfriend still went for a (refreshing) swim at 23h

Unique villa.

Fantastic location, we walked to all the sites in the city. Definitely need to bring sneakers and/or comfortable shoes as there are LOTS of hills. House was fantastic, very very big rooms, clean, private.

The property is nicely decorated, very luxurious. We liked everything about this property. The owner is also very nice and responsive. We had a power outage, he came quickly and fixed it for us. Overall, we had a wonderful time here.

Wonderfully appointed Villa in a great location. Sintra is very scenic & the villa is a short walk to the train to Lisbon.

It’s gorgeous! It was like being in a museum, full of history and interesting artifacts and yet very comfortable with all the modern amenities. The villa is also within walking distance to historic Sintra center and right next to a beautiful park. The property has chickens and a water lily pond and a pool.. vey peaceful setting with views of the moorish castle and the royal Sintra palace. Lots of outdoor space for entertaining or lounging. And spacious dining room and large living room which were perfect for our large gathering. Rui and Petra were wonderful property managers and took care of our every need. We had an awesome time!

The villa is situated on a stunning hilltop location in Sintra with views of the Moorish castle and the National Palace of Sintra. The house itself, built around 1902, is architecturally unremarkable but the interior is tastefully furnished and decorated with an eclectic mix of royal portraits, engravings, middling modern art as well as objets d’art from around the world. The principal bedroom is wonderful and includes a small salon. Four of the remaining five rooms are large and well-appointed whilst the last room is very small and cramped. The bedrooms have lovely en-suite bathrooms. Kitchen is very large and fully equipped, including equipment, cutlery and crockery. There are a number of outside areas, each of which has its own charm. Pool area is very nice and superbly equipped. The caretaker, Rui, is very helpful and friendly. There are also a number of good restuarnts in the centre of town which are a 10 minute walk away. One will either love ot hate (or simply have to ignore) the chickens which start crowing at the crack of dawn.

One of the 6 bedrooms is small and cramped, the remaining 5 are large to very large and very pleasant. Access is a slight challenge as roads in Sintra are narrow and the one-way circulation in town is complicated, but this also adds to the charm and makes walking more pleasant.
