YerbaBuena Lodge

Location was perfect. Right off the main road, yet behind a gate so it was private.

All good.

Breakfast was not included in the room rent. The kitchen is good to have. We bought a few eggs and some small stuff at a nearby market. That was enough to not have to go looking for a restaurant for breakfast. There is a decent restaurant within walking distance. You could get a decent meal for a reasonable price.

The roads in this area are in poor condition. It is not specific to this hotel. It is a general issue for the authorities to improve the roads. I almost felt like this must have been where NASA probably tested the moon buggy and mars rover. The hotel could provide laundry services, or laundry facilities where we could wash our own clothes. Costa Rica is very humid because of the amount of rain they receive in a year. Even if you wash clothes yourself, they don't dry for several days.

A hidden gem in Monteverde. As soon as you walk through the gates you will be surrounded by peace and quiet in the amazing property. Great location in Monteverde.

Beautiful place, amazing location, super close to great cafes and reservations

They only accept payment in cash and I didn’t read their message until we arrived. The owner requested to keep our passports until we came back with cash. Extremely uncomfortable experience. At the end, we had to leave our 3000 EUR worth camera with them while we were getting the cash for 2 night stays. If you want to run an international business and you don’t trust people, get a proper payment system.

YerbaBuena feels like a home from home. Regina and her husband were perfect hosts - so warm and welcoming. Their property is absolutely beautiful (small but has everything you need) and the real bonus is the garden area. It is very well located next to Stella’s Monteverde (a great breakfast or lunch spot) and the Coffee Center where you can get great coffee. You can easily walk into Santa Elena (which is larger than Monteverde) in around 25 minutes, and a taxi back will only cost around 7 dollars.

The wooden cabin family accommodation was absolutely gorgeous and the secure grounds were well maintained and peaceful. We saw a lot of wildlife in the grounds. Stella's cafe was fabulous for breakfast and lunch and only a few minutes walk away. Cafe Monteverde, which was opposite Stella's, did fantastic coffee. We were met by Gabriel, Regina's son, who was welcoming and helpful with advice regarding day trips.

This place was amazing. We recommend it for everyone who love calm and charming place. Very good emplacement too and cosy house:)
