Dorian Guest House and Restaurant

Location is amazing, just up the road from Coconuts surf break. It's a very laidback guesthouse with a nice vibe, we extended our stay by four nights. The owner was very helpful with local info about money exchange and surf breaks and even let my husband use his personal surfboard during our stay (for a fee). The staff are also very smiley. The rooms were huge and the whole place felt quite cool for Sri Lanka (design of the building/fans).

We started off in a standard room where the wifi was really patchy (we then moved to a deluxe room upstairs closer to the router and the wifi worked perfectly). It was also quite a pricey room considering breakfast's not included.

The location is perfect, just enough off the road to be quiet. The room had a beautiful balcony and was perfect for my needs.

Dorians is a great place to stay. It’s super clean and they really keep on top of the place. The rooms are a good size and there was very little in the way of mosquitoes, thankfully. There are many people who work there that can help out with anything you need. You can rent bikes and surfboards directly from them at a good price. It’s a great location directly near the beach. They seemed to be constantly reviewing and trying to improve the menu, also…you must try Ravi’s home made lemonade, it’s to die for.

Not valued for money. Pictures on booking.com don't fit reality. On booking.com it seems there is only one or two rooms. We had to change the room. With friends we had opportunity to stay in 3 rooms in total. In every rooms something was not working - fan, AC, balcony doors not possible to close and lock etc. When we paid we were asked for 50 USD more than price on booking. Laundry took one extra day than we were told. Recommendation: check the room first if it suits you, go for deluxe room, no big price difference, pay attention to the price when you pay.
