The host was very nice and welcoming.

It wasn't very clean, there were ants everywhere.

The flat is very nice and comfy, it has a small garden too with many plants and banana trees. Everything was tidy and in very good condition! The host, Joanna, was very nice and welcoming :) Another big pro is the position of the flat, if you’re moving by public transport there’s a bus stop just in front of the house!

Unfortunately we stayed during some very hot days so we had to keep the main door open during the night in order to have some fresh air… maybe a mosquitoes net would be great so that they don’t get in :)

The local is a bit far from city center of Funchal but it's totally worth it since you just need to walk like 15 mins and you will get to the amazing Câmara de Lobos, personally I think it's much better than the city centre. The place is very quiet and safe. You can get some spices from their garden. A bit surprised was that the main entrance was never locked as I think it's really safe in the neighborhood. Their kitchen is equipped with all things that you need for a quick meal. I will be back for a winter hike and most likely this will be the place again. Thank you Joana!

probably the toilet lid is kinda malfunctioning. If it's possible for breakfast option, it will be great. For now, either climbing the hills (15-20 mins) or get something from the supermercado a day before. (pingo doce at Câmara de Lobos is very convenient)

very cosy place. Good location is at the middle island. you can get easily every part of the island.

Great contact with owners father (owner was not present), guidance in the close area of the building. easy and safe parking, great place for just night/sleep (read cons as well for that) stop between Madera tours. (not a place for kids). Overall clean and outside the main city location.

Idea for the trip was to use apartment for night stay and all day tour Madera. Unfortunately, not sure if we had bad luck, but local dogs decided to bark in the middle of the night for last 2 nights. These were not stray dogs on the road but dogs on the premises directly next to the apartment... far from positive to hear barking for few hours (between 1AM-3AM) after exhausting tour day.

The house is in the perfect spot to easily visit the whole island. You’re bound to have a car to move around, since it’s far from any restaurant or activity (walking distance). Funchal for some reason is very expensive, and the rental price here was ok. The host is very nice, constantly checks up on you, and even left us some fruit from the garden for us to enjoy.

You are not renting the full villa, as it says on Booking.com. It’s only a studio on the ground floor of the house of the family that lives there (which makes it very noisy because they live on top of you). Because of the garden, it’s also full of mosquitos and the windows are not protected (but one), so you always need to keep everything closed and the toilet doesn’t smell great. You also don’t have much privacy, so it’s best to keep the shutters down most of the time, which makes the place dark even during the day. Finally, the bed is not comfortable at all, which for one night is ok, but for 6 like in our case starts being very hard.

Lovely cosy apartment, well located with street parking just in front. We had a great time in Madeira and staying here was a great decision. Joana made sure everything was perfect with our stay and was incredible kind, friendly and attentive. The conditions are perfect for a couple looking for a quiet place with privacy and confort.
