Ancient Gardens Guesthouse & Botanical Gardens

Amazing garden, pond and cactus house. Super knowledgeable, friendly host. We had a tour of the garden and also time to explore on our own. This is a perfect alternative to the business of the coastal beaches. We would liked to have stayed longer.

Very friendly and helpful/accommodating host, nothing was any trouble. The tour of the gardens was incredible, much history and information from Peter.

The driveway in and down to the property is narrow and encroached buy the many plants on both sides of the driveway, However it's doable. Not a lot of space to turn around when you get to the villa especially if there is a couple of cars their. But all in all we managed.

The garden at this property is amazing and the personalised tour by our host Peter was exceptional. His garden and passion for his plants was just wonderful. The garden is a treasure! Comfortable beds, couches and a well laid out kitchen. It was a lovely place! If you like cycads, cacti or just have an interest in gardens you must stay here.

Be wary that the driveway is very steep and a bit tricky to see from the road When you do get to the driveway though, the drive up or down it is so stunningly beautiful!

Beautiful gardens and the host was very nice and very knowledgeable. I hidden paradise.

Lots of mosquitoes, bring some repellent.

Location was beautiful.

The bedroom with the bunks was outside the house so the children had to sleep on the sofa and a mattress on the lounge floor.

Gardens and surroundings, tour, wildlife, studio privacy, frogs, facilities and shared pool.

Pool was listed as private But is actually at main house So should be listed as shared

Peter the owner he gave us a tour of his garden and absolutely love it. He is so accommodating and made sure that we’re comfortable and everything’s perfect during our stay. He even gave us plants as a souvenir.

Magnificent location, couldn't be more delighted with our stay. Accomodation is set in the most beautiful and unique garden filled with rare plants. Peter was a wonderful host, friendly and knowledgeable. He offered to take us on a tour of the garden and a night time wander over to the pond to look at tree frogs. Both experiences were an unforgettable botanical and zoological adventure we'll remember forever! Thank you for sharing your special spot with us for two nights!

Such a beautiful surprise at the end of our journey in Queensland to have the absolute pleasure of staying in the Ancient Gardens Guesthouse and Botanical Gardens. The property owners are kind and generous people, who take immense pride in their place in which you will feel comfortable and welcome. The collection is astounding and well looked after, a true testament to the hard work of Peter. A stay here will both rest and inspire.
