Ancient Gardens Guesthouse & Botanical Gardens

The gardens are amazing and the owner is accommodating, happy to give a tour and share his knowledge. Also did washing for us which was helpful as we were flying out the next day. The lounge is very comfortable.

The actual unit itself is next to the owners home and does not have blinds/ curtains in bathrooms, kitchen or lounge which made me feel a little uncomfortable. There are no doors on the combined toilet/bathrooms. The 3rd room is actually outside of the unit and my daughter didn't want to stay in it and be separated from the family, so had to sleep on the couch. There were plugs/multiboxes on the floor - we had a crawling baby so had to be vigilant, but not ideal for young family. The 2 inside bedrooms had a strong odor of either water or animals which was not great. Also the advertisement made it look like the unit had is own lovely pool, but this is not the case, it's at the owners home and is in need of maintenance which the kids were super disappointed about.

The gardens were unbelievable and the host took the time to explain them. Rare plants, cycads from from exotic sources. Amazing

Spectacular garden setting, breathtakingly beautiful location with stunning cycads, trees, palms, cactuses, landscaping and THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DRIVEWAY 🥰😍 Peter, the owner & creator of this paradise has been very welcoming from the first moment, very attentive and engaging, and happy to share his vast knowledge of the plants & proud to share his creation with us. We've enjoyed going frog spotting/toads catching at night with him, was fun for my daughters in particular. Both our dogs just had an absolute blast exploring the property freely. The pool was great to cool down in and very enjoyable experience overall.

Upon arriving, this property outweighed any expectation I had. Peter, the host, provided a tour of his exceptional historical gardens and took the family frog hunting showing the variety of different species around the pond which shows the passion he has put into this property and the photos do no justice. This property is a definite gem, and understand why now it is called the ancient gardens. This property provided tranquillity, relaxing, and therapeutic environment, especially after a long day's drive. I have found a new respect for Argaves, and thank you, Peter, and his wife for opening up this property for others to share this experience.

A beautiful and serene garden view. Where Peter takes the children to explore frogs by the pond at night, it’s a truly wonderful experience. Peter did his best to provide us with help and a great experience during our stay. We are very grateful for his generosity and kindness.

Peter the owner called us early and advised the guest house was ready and we could check in early if we would like to, the house was amazing both rooms had ensuite’s , this made our grandkids so excited to have their own toilet and shower. The owner took our grandkids frog sporting in the amazing gardens wt night and showed us the many frogs that lived there. The ability to have our dogs there was also amazing as one of our little dogs required surgery and it took the stress away knowing we could care for him there after his surgery . I rate everything a 10 location to everything within 20 minute drive, cold air conditioning, clean, swimming pool , we enjoyed our stay and plan on staying again.
