Streamside Country Manor- Matamata

Beautiful and rustic, every room and every space so well decorated. Authentic but at the same time modern and comfortable. A perfect blend of old feel and modern comfort.

We were lucky enough to have the whole house to ourselves, so it was perfect, I do think though that with other guests, it would be very noisy.

Breakfast was good continental but we were able to cook our own breakfast also. Caren was lovely and the house charming and well maintained, It was easy to find and only a short distance (10 mins by car) from Matamata.

We would have rated the property much higher other than the confusion over what was advertised. We thought we had booked two villas and so two bathrooms. Instead it is a large old timber house with two bedrooms and two attic rooms all sharing one bathroom. Luckily there was a separate ensuite room and also no other visitors. We were two couples. I strongly recommend paying the extra for the ensuite bedroom but be aware you are sharing a bathroom if you do not. The house is very comfortable and we loved it.

Owners were friendly and bed was comfortable.

Room was tiny and up a ladder. There were nails sticking out of the wall and I tore a hole in my shirt trying to get past. No window covering for the skylight and several spiders that needed to be killed before I could sleep. Walls were very thin, so to could hear everything going on in the house.

The breakfast was nice, but some more toast spreads would be good please.

The soap pump wasn't working in the ensuite bathroom and there was no bath mat.

The location and the architecture of the building was awesome!

Lovely peaceful place to stay - gorgeous house. Very clean - friendly host.

What a great place! I had great talks with the hosts and the other guests and was even invited for dinner! A highly recommend place to stay in the Matamata area!

Beautiful home in lovely gardens. Hosts live in the loft over the garage and use the kitchen but otherwise the house is left to guests. We stayed in the bedroom with ensuite & shower, the other rooms shared the main bathroom. The hosts were lovely, very welcoming and keen to provide information about the area. Karan provided a lovely contential breakfast which we weren't expecting It was only 20 minutes from Hobbition which was a great plus for us
