Streamside Country Manor- Matamata

Beautiful setting, comfy bed, lovely breakfast.

Noise from other guests carried into our bedroom.

The building itself was incredible, wonderful craftsmanship, special. Furniture and artwork super, quirky and rustic. Breakfast was okay, nice meusli and healthy toast. Bed was luscious, comfy. The property grounds are a lovely drawcard.

Breakfast - a few more options would be good eg: more fruit, a couple of different cereals for choice. Ensuite bathroom could do with a handy shelf for toiletries. Complimentary ones would also be welcome. The stream and pond could do with a bit of clearing. The television could be investigated to get it working. Sometimes when travelling you want to see local content or a specific event (Sail GP in this case) or news, or just chilling when not feeling sociable...

The location was incredible, the charm of all of the indoor and outdoor spaces was absolutely perfect. Our host was so kind and thoughtful and checked in to make us feel welcomed. If you're visiting Hobbiton, this is the perfect stay.

No such thing, only bad thing was that we didn't stay longer.

Very cute property very nice wipes nice host

I absolutely adored the house and would have been happy to stay there forever. The landscape and surroundings were gorgeous. Caren met us and gave us a nice tour of the house and garden, and answered any questions. The kitchen was central and accessible and had all that we needed. Fellow guests were friendly and considerate.

I was confused about breakfast being offered for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the listing calls it "The bed and breakfast" several times. Secondly, the summary of guest reviews says that guests enjoyed the continental offerings. Thirdly, question #3 on the feedback form says "What did you think of the breakfast? How was the location". However, upon asking it turns out that they do not - or perhaps no longer? - offer breakfast. It was not a problem as my stomach doesn't wake up until later, but it was an expectation that was not met. I think this could be spelled out better. Also, I wasn't clear from the booking info that there were other guests in the house. Some of the reviews covered this so I was forewarned, but I suggest that this basic info could be laid out more clearly in the original description. I would find this more useful than knowing how far it is from the Hamilton Gardens, for instance.

Streamside Country manner lived up to our expectations and beyond. It is like stepping into a house in Hobbiton. It is filled with quirky, artistic touches. Caren met us even though we were very late and gave us a warm welcome. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable in a lovely large room.
