Older style villa reasonably well maintained, in places. Bubbling paint, stained grout, water stained tiles, stained ceilings, shower water leaks, exterior panels falling away, corroded air conditioning units, a broken doorknob to one of the bathrooms, minor tile damage, sagging but still operational exterior fan, slightly frayed power cord on one of the bedside table lights, and so on, but nothing serious. Typical of older villas. The villa and bathrooms are cleaned daily and scrubbed but once a tile is stained, it’s stained. Two large bedrooms both with ensuites, but it also has a third toilet off the main living and dining area. Both bedrooms have queen sized beds that are quite comfortable with clean linen, typically, all the pillows are the same size. When are hotels and villas etc. going to learn to supply a range of pillow sizes? Each of the air-conditioned bedrooms have ensuites, but are noisy if left on overnight. Go the room with the Daiken. Safes with no instructions, Putu the manager came to explain everything including the TV, and movie box which was broken and needed fixing. Both ensuites have soap, shampoo and conditioner, even toothbrushes and toothpaste, which you don’t see everywhere, it’s a nice touch. 1 shower has a water leak issue. Both ensuites have a shower, basin, toilet, vanity with a large mirror and one has a hair dryer. Inside, a 352 litre LG fridge freezer, a two-burner gas top, range hood, sink, toaster, microwave, a water cooler with spare water container and an island bench with two stools. There’s plenty of cupboard space in the slightly wonky and warped top cupboards indicative of many Bali Villas, but you’ll find everything you need; saucepans, pot and pans, serving dishes, and glassware, cups, plates, cutlery, measuring spoons, coffee plungers and assorted utensils, plus tea, coffee and sugar, but no kettle. Don't open the bottom cupboards. Ewww.
One inadequately sized bin in the kitchen. The living area comprises a wooden
dining setting for 4, a sideboard, a 2 & 3 seat couch lots of pillows, also stained, a wooden coffee table etc. If you want to use or charge a laptop or phone, it’s best to use the ones in the bedrooms. An old school LG 42 inch TV in the main living area with a DVD player and a set top box? and maybe the Wi-Fi box. Wi Fi, in Bali it’s mostly free, but there are varying levels of security, 24.70mbps speed. The gardens are lush and green as most Bali villas are. There are 2 pebble and tile lined sides of the pool from which to gain access, accompanied by 2 wicker sun lounges. The pool gets sun during the day and is a nice temp. 60 cm deep shallow end, just under 5 feet at the deep end. The property has a large roller gate that opens into a car port. This roller gate is the only access to the property. There is no door access like you see on most villas.,
The staff were amazing as they usually are. Very helpful, friendly and efficient.
Villa Chinta 1 is a nice place to stay but it’s got plenty of competition like Bali Emerald Villas, and Parigata Villas Resort. What I think this place needs is a youthful injection of enthusiasm, TLC and fixing up. It’s just a little tired, a little rundown and needs work, not a lot, but more than the current owners/lessees are clearly willing to take on. Either the lease is coming to an end, and they don’t want to spend any money, or the care factor just isn’t there anymore.
I have a feeling, the large hotel that borders this property is going to be demolished. It’s my suspicion that this block may well be included in that new development which would support my other theory that the lease is ending. Anyway, time will tell.
