Casa da Talhada - Stone House

This is a very unique home that is full of artworks/relics with absolutely beautiful outdoor space(s). We felt like we were in the home of the most noble of the court inside the walled city, close to the palace--it felt medieval, yet with many of the modern conveniences. The size of the property is huge and easily accommodated our extended family. The home is situated within the stone wall of the walled city so we were grateful to open all of the doors/windows for a lovely cross breeze. The view and the experience was amazing and felt authentic and unique. (note: 2 of our party had stayed in the pousada (castle accommodation) before and this experience was far more unique. The host was very responsive and, although we never met, very attentive and kind.

Finding simple groceries to have on hand is difficult within the walled city so plan ahead.

Directions for parking, and getting the key were not clear.

Never before I have sped my time in such an interesting and exceptional house! Communication with the host was very pleasant. The house is located inside the old city, the view is breathtaking.

Perfect Location, Lovely terraced garden to relax in, views, amazing decor and layout inside.

The Stone House is incomparable. If you ever find yourself in Obidos I would highly recommend. It is a MUST stay. The outside spaces are fabulous. The back garden is heaven. Beds are comfortable, shower/bath with great pressure and long supply of hot water. Kitchen is well appointed with everything you need if you choose to cook. The living room and dining area are spectacular.
