Skiathos Gea Villas

Super clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed and even had some water bottles in the fridge for us when we got there. Villa was cleaned every day. Staff was super friendly. Excellent views. Had difficulties with our booking due to flight being cancelled because of floods. John so kindly rescheduled our dates and refunded a day we’d miss.

The location is slightly difficult being on top of the mountain. You can’t walk to the town or beach really. There’s no supermarkets nearby or buses. But you can get taxis or rent cars/scooters/quad bikes nearby.

It was a little awkward that we had to explicitly ask for basics such as table salt, vinegar and oil as well as a blanket (yes, one of the beds didn't have a blanket and it took 2 days to get one)! Overall our stay was comfortable, but on the last day we ended up experiencing what I can only describe as extremely rude, bordering on inhumane... here goes: As per the booking.com description - checkout time is 11am. We were planning to vacate the property well before that (had a taxi booked for 10:15). Around 10am, while we were still in full packing mode, the cleaning lady literally just let herself in and started cleaning!!! I politely told her that we are not done yet. Around 10:10 we pulled our bags to the front of the villa expecting the taxi to arrive any minute. The cleaning lady must have taken that as a signal that she can start cleaning, which we didn't mind given we were expecting to leave momentarily...Sadly that didn't end up being the case, so around 10:30 we decided that it wasn't safe for our 3 young children to stay out in the sweltering heat and got them back inside one of the bedrooms. The cleaning lady came into the room and said 'sorry!' in a loud voice, basically asking us to vacate the room. I pointed out that it's not 11 yet and that we cannot have our children out in the heat while waiting for a taxi. Long story short she made such a scene that our boy was scared for quite a while after. I could not believe that we could be treated that way on our last day. Highly recommend the management of this place to invest in some staff training.

the facilities the rooms kitchen area and lounge very nice

small pool and too far from the town . not accessible easily by foot from main road . we had to spend money each night in taxis as very uphill . need car really but not clear from description
