The Docks

L’annonce ne correspondait pas tout à fait à la réalité : la terrasse est à partager entre tous les appartements. L’appartement n’a pas de double vitrage et sur le port beaucoup de bruit , la musique sur la plage jusqu’à 5h du matin . Impossible de dormir L’appartement a été traité mais il y a des Blattes / cafards et dans le faux plafond des bêtes qui court la nuit.

Appartement spacieux et confortable. Climatisation, grande literie , tout le nécessaire sur place dans la cuisine et la salle de bain. Pouvoir prendre ses repas sur le salon extérieur avec cette vue magnifique est un réel plaisir . Le parking privé est également un atout! Gentillesse et dispo du manager ! Le port de Paul do mar est parfait pour se baigner , profiter d'un verre et de restaurations de bonne qualité a des prix raisonnables. La vue et les coucher de soleil sont magnifiques . Nous recommandons sans hésiter ce logement aux futurs touristes qui auront la chance de visiter Madère !

До моря 1 минута, виды великолепные из всех окон. Шикарные две комнаты с полноценными двухспальными кроватями, большая гостиная,на кухне есть все необходимое. Большая ванная комната. Супер апартаменты!

Tolle Lage, sehr schön eingerichtet, die Unterkunft selbst war perfekt.

Nachts leider sehr viele Kakerlaken unterwegs und in den Zwischendecken vermutlich ebenfalls nachtaktive Ratten. Es hieß zwar, wir bekommen eine Entschädigung. Nach dem Check-Out haben wir jedoch nie wieder was vom Vermieter gehört.

Truly stunning location right on the beach and next to a waterfall and a hiking trail. Just so nice to wake up every morning to the sound of the waterfall and the waves of the ocean. Located in a very quiet and peaceful fishing village where after a few days you’ll start to recognise the locals and the fishermen playing dominoes at breakfast. Although it says villas, these are 3x two bed apartments, (ours was the middle one) and they’re well proportioned with marble kitchen and bathroom and include a very comfortable, very large bed in the master bedroom, something oddly missing in other places we stayed. Pedro himself is very accommodating and super willing to make things work for you. Whilst there’s AC in the living room, there’s none in the bedrooms so when asked, he brought over a fan for us which did the job. But Pedro really excelled on another occasion: a few days into our stay, our apartment keys slipped out of my pocket whilst sitting on the beach (admiring the gorgeous sunset) and fell between the stones and rocks, making them impossible to find again. Pedro immediately travelled an hour’s journey all the way from the other side of the island to give me a spare without ever complaining or lecturing, only empathising that he’d done something similar in the past with some coins, and then proceeded to unearth all the stones on the beach until very luckily finding the original set! Really great hard working guy, and a lovely place :-)

We loved staying at The Docks! The location, overlooking the small harbor was ideal. We had easy access to everything we needed: restaurants, groceries, costal walk. It had several outside sitting areas with table and chairs for relaxing or eating. The accommodation was clean, bright, comfortable, and the shower was great, with lots of hot water. While we often cooked our own meals, there is a restaurant within a few yards, Bar Ideal, that offered fresh fish and delicious meals. We ate there several times and were never disappointed. The views from our place were outstanding! The sea for boating and swimming in front, mountains directly behind with a lovely waterfall and some hiking options. We would highly recommend!

We truly enjoyed our 12-day stay in the top-floor apartment. We had everything we needed in terms of furniture and kitchen equipment. We only used one of the bedrooms, the one with the large double bed and side view of the ocean. The mattress is on the firm side and we slept very well in it! There is also a selection of pillows. Eating breakfast with our eyes half on our food and half on the Atlantic every single day was an unbeatable experience. We met Pedro, the host, on one of our last days. He speaks great English, and was super friendly and happy to explain how some of the village life works. The guest handbook in the flat was also very comprehensive. Paul do Mar is a treasure trove of genuine seafood. Some of the bars look a bit shabby from the outside but they often serve excellent, down-to-earth fish and other typical dishes.
