Glyndley Manor Cottages

Fantastic location about 6 miles north of Eastbourne. Peaceful location with amazing bird song all around. The cottage we had (no.24) was all at ground level which was good and had disabled bay outside and outside table and chairs. The grounds of the manor house are lovely, the alpacas are very cute! Bonus to have a swimming pool which is open during office hours. Great to be able to take a dog (note only one dog allowed in cottage). The staff members we met were all pleasant, one guy in particular who seems to do a lion share was very friendly and helpful. The Hillier's garden centre just up the road has a good restaurant and food hall.

The cottage is a little dated, but that is less of an issue than having somewhere that is immaculately clean and well maintained. We accept that in the countryside there will be insects and spiders, but the amount of cobwebs and spiders when we first arrived was far more than really acceptable. Whilst there was a decent level of cleanliness, it really required a much deeper clean to remove all cobwebs, eg clean around the opened window frames, cleaning under radiators, lampshades etc.

Cottage was very well equipped, had everything you might need for self catering

We had to wash the outside furniture ourselves It was full of birds mess and spiders/ webs. Think this had been overlooked and on arrival we spent good part of an hour to get it all off. Also no window coverings in bathroom windows, frosted glass , could see people showering in other cottages, we stuck the non slip mat on ours

Such a peaceful and beautiful place to stay. Each time I go there I sleep well and leave relaxed and in a very good mood. I hope it won’t be booked next time I’m in the area 🙏🏼

The Alpacas were not interested in communicating
