"Excellent spot for a quiet break with plenty of local walks and facilities."

9.0

Quiet location, so much so that the keys were left in the door for us! Lovely views and the facilities were well thought out and clean and tidy. Would definite recommend to those looking for a quiet get away spot.

In wet weather I would imagine that the parting area could be messy / muddy

"Rustic farmstay with spectacular views"

6.0

We loved the quirkiness of the location, and the views from the farm were spectacular. The hosts were very laid back and happy for us to wander around and explore, so we felt right at home. The cottage is compact but feels spacious due to the large amount of natural light it gets through the lovely original windows. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need for a few days self-catering. The short but steep walk from the farm up to May Hill is worth it for the spectacular panoramic views. Also, try The Forest Bakehouse nearby for delicious artisan bread and coffee.

The cottage is located immediately next to the farmhouse, which meant that the private outdoor seating area wasn't quite as private as we thought when we saw the photos on the listing. The hosts were very friendly and not at all intrusive but sometimes farm visitors used our outdoor seating area to cut through to the house, which made it feel a little less private. The cottage could do with a deep clean as there was a lot of dust collected on some of the surfaces. It's a little tired and needs some TLC (a few broken hooks, old rugs, etc) but it does have a certain rustic charm and is, after all, situated on a working farm. The bar stools are unstable and not really fit for purpose; they could do with being replaced.

"Enjoyed our stay very much."

8.0

Quirky, in a good way. Everything we needed was there. Close by to family for our visit. We normally stay in a B&B but we preferred staying here as we could make our own breakfast.

Bit of a squeeze in the bathroom but not to the extent it would stop me booking it again.

"Solo and family week for rural peace"

10.0

Good facilities useable kitchen for self catering. Incredible views and rural location, peace, horses, dark skies for stars and cute little sitting area/ camp kitchen with old furniture for evenings - exactly what I needed!

Only seating option in accommodation is 2 high, slippy bar stools or bed, it needed one little armchair or just a lower table & normal chairs. Not good for accessibility/ older guests.

"Perfectly peaceful"

9.0

The cottage was lovely and spotlessly clean. A lot of thought had gone in to the little details which make a stay memorable. The beds were very comfortable, I haven’t slept so well in ages and waking up to the horses going past was for me a bonus.

There was nothing to dislike

Lovely quiet accommodation, comfortable beds and fantastic views. Everything that we needed in the kitchen except cooking oil.

Bar stools at breakfast bar not good for arthritis sufferers. No shower gel or shampoo, luckily we brought some with us.Also some oil for cooking breakfast would have been good.

"2 night stay in Gloucs"

9.0

Fabulous setting. Beautifully calm and peaceful.

The approach road is not only single track but has high sides so really tricky to see people driving towards you, and difficult to pass. Instructions for how to get the oven on are needed to be left on the work surface for a couple who are famished after a long drive and clutching their ready meal for 2.
