The River Siding

Great location next to the river, with amazing views of the mountains. Ceres, Wolseley and Tulbagh are all easily accessible. The log cabin was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The hosts were easily accessible and helped out with issues quickly.

This is a working farm so during the week you can expect some noise from farm vehicles and cars on the nearby roads, however it wasn't loud enough to be bothersome.

Absolutely loved our weekend away! Quiet, peaceful, and simply serene. The view is gorgeous. The sounds of the river and birds were so refreshing. Cabin was very clean, bedding and towels are great as well. Found the place big enough for my husband, 2 kids, and I. Over enough space for kiddos to play. Check in and out went smoothly with clear communication. All in all, a great stay! Thank you Stephanie!

The privacy and beautiful natural location on the river bank surrounded by fruit trees and high mountains. Just beautiful and so peaceful. Good for the soul.

Very relaxing along the riverside , hearing the flow of the water and the mountain view relaxes a person. Unit had all amenities required, and the air con was welcoming as well as the indoor fireplace. Spotless unit. Fully equipped unit. Place was so relaxing, just what we needed.

Bathrooms, although attached, a person is still required to walk in cold air via outdoor section to gain access. But we managed, so that was not a major factor for us.

It was well located. I loved the waterflow sound during night and morning. Very comfortable and nice walking trails down the river through the fruit trees

Entrance is very sharp and difficult to see especially during night time.

Good, friendly and helpful communication from the property, the scenic and tranquil location right next to the river, the view from the stoep, the outside barbeque area (with good lighting) and the fact that our friends could bring their two dogs. All the essentials were available (including electric blankets) and we received two large complimentary butternut pumpkins that were produced on the farm as well as two bags of firewood. There was an electricity outage during the one day caused by a fault in the grid and we were kept informed by the property until the electricity came back on. There was a single plate gas stove available to use during the electricity outage and we prepared brunch on the outside barbeque.

Both the kitchen sink taps were leaking and there were some tree branches scraping on the roof at nigh due to windy conditions. It will help future guests if the branches are kept trimmed away from the roof. It will also be good if the drop-down blinds around the stoep can be secured at the bottom (as the bottom poles were making a noise against the upright wooden poles during windy conditions). There was only one silicone ice tray that was stuck to the bottom of the freezer compartment. It broke in half when we tried to remove it from the freezer. Three sturdier ice trays will be a nice addition.

Beautiful place. Clean and well maintained. Value for money. Will definitely be back again.

Only negative is the proximity to the road but not a deterrent.
