Tshikwalo Game Lodge

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. That is about all I can say in a positive light.

Upon arrival, we were not too happy with the location of the chalets. I emailed the establishment to enquire which unit we were staying in, but I only received a reply on the 02nd April. We checked out on the 30th March. We would have preferred they mention that the way the chalet was built, does not allow the visitors to have a look out into the bush but instead, we faced a unit in front of us. This was the experience we were looking for and this was not met. The next morning, while trying to make breakfast, we found that we did not have any cutlery (there was one butter knife and no forks or steak knives). Then, while trying to have a shower, we had no hot water. We phoned reception, and upon their arrival, my husband had to tell them that the batteries in the geyser were flat and they should replace the batteries. We then had warm water, which we could not regulate. It was either piping hot or ice cold. The cleaners did not clean our braai. We had to ask someone to clean it for us. Overall, I was not impressed by the accommodation offered by the lodge and I doubt I will be visiting again.

As the lodge is the bush/reserve, providing mosquito nets in the rooms should be mandatory as there are a lot of mosquitoes day and night.

Nice location and good roads to get there.
