Romantic secluded Shepherd Hut Hares Rest

The Welcome Hamper was amazing. A lovely touch - fantastic homemade cake, fresh eggs, milk, orange juice, artisan sourdough loaf, shortbread, butter, jam, marshmallows for toasting! The location was great in that, although i only live in the next town, i felt secluded enough to feel that i was away on holiday - just the rest i needed. The Shepherd’s Hut was beautifully decorated and meticulously styled. I also really enjoyed having use of the fire pit. I will definitely be looking to stay again, ideally on a regular basis, to give me time out from the stresses of everyday life.

The only things i would point out - and these are merely information points and not criticisms: - The toaster doesn’t work properly. - It’s time for the sealant in the shower cubicle to be redone. - I wonder if it would be a good idea to have a canopy above the stable door, just to shelter the doorway and steps from the rain? - The listing states that it’s secluded, which it kind of is in terms of being out in a field seemingly in the middle of nowhere- but just across the field, a short distance away, is an old truck that has been converted into another lodging. I was ok with it because the people who were using it didn’t cause any issues at all, but i was surprised that another lodge was so nearby.

Perfect peaceful location. The sheperd's hut had everything we needed for a quiet weekend getaway. The breakfast hamper provided was really nice and it was great to have use of the fire pit in the evenings

Where to start...? This was my second visit and it was every bit as good as I remembered. The welcome basket full of local produce is a lovely touch. The hut is warm, comfortable and has all the things you could want. Outdoor area provides a perfect spot to sit and relax and the local area is beautiful - lots to explore within a 20 min walk or short drive. I will be coming again!!

Nothing - my only complaint was that I had to come home!

We had a fantastic stay, everything we needed was supplied. The hamper was excellent, homemade cakes, jams and their own eggs. Bread butter, orange juice and milk. Being able to bbq on the firepit as the weather was perfect and enjoyed the marshmallows.

The mattress was a bit soft and worn out. But certainly didn't affect our stay.

This a beautiful little gem of a place. The facilities are excellent, and the location is tranquil. The hosts provide a wonderful little hamper containing both homemade and locally sourced produce which is of a very high quality. I love staying here when I can.

Everything was perfect, loved the decor, the comfy bed, everything you need for a few nights away, and more. The outside area with the fire basket was so relaxing. Loved the food hamper and the cake was delicious.

A bit tired and needed a more thorough clean

Quiet location despite being so close to shops & pubs. The hut was small but cosy, the log burner warms the place up very quickly which was brilliant after a day out in the rain. The small fire pit outside was a great place to relax with a drink. The bed was comfy and the hut was very well insulated so it was warm and cosy.

We couldn’t find anything that we didn’t like about the property!
