Whakaipo Bay Cabin Retreat Taupo

This is some of the best accommodation we have ever had - anywhere. Absolutely beautiful. The view is incredible. Great attention to detail.

Great accomodation with amazing view. Very private in somewhat secluded location but still close to city (by car). There was everything we needed and more (sweets and bubbles much appreciated). Definitely recommend.

Dry toilet required some getting used to

Loved everything. The veiw was amazing. Bed super comfy. The cabin was spacious and very well catered. This was our second stay and definitely coming back.

Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful well thought out cabin in a great location with a fabulous view. Soy milk provided when notified of dairy free. Great fire and heaps of firewood. Wonderful robes and slippers. Communicative host.

Feather duvet, and cushions. Not a fan of the textured sheets.

The cabin was modern, spotless and everything we could possibly have needed for our stay was there. There were board games for wet weather and soft robes to wear for cosy nights spent in front of the fireplace. The bath had a spectacular view of the hills and lake, and it was only a short trip into Taupō for dinner. Dragging the bean bags onto the deck for a wine and sunset was a highlight. The photos attached to this listing do not do the property justice. Our host clearly has a passion for the property and for hosting. We highly recommend staying here.

We loved everything

Perfect in every way. All the little touches made for an exceptional stay. The most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. Fluffy and luxurious robes. Biggest bath tub ever. The view was exquisite. We felt like we had truly retreated from the world and every day life. We returned to reality refreshed, re juvenated and relaxed. Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise with the public. Everything was pristine clean and tidy. Thanks for catering to our plant based diet with the oat milk in the fridge. Thank you also for the complimentary bubbles upon arrival. Also, the lit fire was very welcome as we arrived on a freezing late afternoon! It's these little touches which make all the difference. It felt very private yet was a short drive to the town centre!
