Beautiful cabin with all mod cons. Spacious, fabulous bedding, beautiful bathrooms ... immaculate throughout; everything felt like brand new. Owner extremely helpful and friendly. Location was perfect for our needs and nice to be able to walk to such a nice pub.

Location ideal for Longleat.

Dreadful. I have scored the property and host very low, following our experience on the second night of a two night stay. On returning on the second evening we found the smoke detector in one of the bedrooms was emitting a loud, shrill bleep every 30 seconds. We contacted the host who contacted her electrician. He advised that the faulty smoke detector was mains operated and could not be disconnected as it was linked to the other smoke detectors. As he didn't offer a 24 emergency service, he would be unable to fix it until the morning. Instead of using a different electrician or arranging alternative accommodation, the host offered earplugs. Smoke detectors are designed to wake the heaviest of sleepers, with or without earplugs, so would have been ineffective. I have since checked and there are several electricians in the area offering a 24 hour service. We dragged the beds from the bedroom to the adjoining lounge/dining room/ kitchen, and the host attempted to block the gap under the door, but it made very little difference to the noise. Clearly this host is unable to cope with any problems arising in the lodge. The 2 night stay cost £450. The host has refused to make any refund.

The property and location were outstanding. Quiet and private, but close to local attractions, which is exactly what we were looking for. Our host was lovely and extremely thoughtful and helpful with little touches like milk in the fridge etc. The place was very clean and in excellent condition. I would highly recommend and would like to stay there again.

Lovely location. Clean and comfortable. Great for families. Lovely Host who met us and took us to the property and was ever so helpful.

Perfect location for visiting Longleat and other attractions. Lindsay has obviously put a lot of thought into the lodge as it was equipped with everything we could need for our week long stay, including some fresh milk and tea/coffee supplies on our arrival. The lodge itself is beautiful and spacious, and we saw quite a few squirrels, which was lovely. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
