Casa Terra Hostel

Everything Atmosphere in this hostel is superb. It was an honour to be the first Pole visiting 😁

Everything was excellent. Staff, location, atmosphere. One of the friendliest places I've stayed. Nice to be on the edge of town away from the bustle with a lovely outdoor space but at the same time a 7 minute walk to the beach and an easy walk into town.

Everyone was amazing. So welcoming. Super energy. It has very relaxed vibe. It was a home away from home.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The possibility of seeing wildlife (I saw a troop of monkeys at the front of the hostel). Showers /bathrooms were large and laundry service available . It was a chilled “hippie” feel with camp fire on first eve.

It was very rundown and in need of a renovation. Although the volunteers did their best to keep it clean being in the jungle there were many insects. You could not wear shoes inside which meant my feet were black. The rooms were very cramped with very little room to even store luggage let alone take your stuff out. Music played till late and smoking out front which permeated the building. Beds were very rickety, no power to charge phones on top bunk. No safety rails on top bunks.

The staff are all amazing people, in this hostel we feel like at home because a great atmosphere is created and you live in a real house, the common areas are great, parking is available and it's very close to the beach and the town

The staff, the vibes

Casa Terra was the best hostel of my 3 week trip to Costa Rica. It is surrounded by nature where you can view so many monkeys and iguanas while drinking your morning coffee. The monkeys are so closed and live right in the trees above the hostel. I don't know why I would ever pay for an animal tour after staying at Casa Terra as I've seen monkeys for a lifetime. The vibe is awesome, the owners and volunteers have a heart of gold and are always there to help you out or have a nice chat. At night people cook at the hostel and hangout outside. It really felt like a home away from home. There is no AC no hot water it's an open house full of light and nature sounds and all of this makes it great. Kind of like awesome camping:)
