Perfect location, friendly host.

The owner, Jean. Could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. She went above and beyond , providing fresh towels, bedding, booklets on places to see. Even stopping for a daily chat . I've never felt more at home than I did at the Camping Barn. I cannot wait to go back again. The views are Stunning too.

There is not one thing I do not like about this Beautiful , Picturesque place. It's Food for the Soul.

Location was perfect close to derwent

Our experience with the host was unfortunately very disappointing. The following morning, while we were packing up (with 40 minutes still remaining before check-out), the host followed us around the property making several passive-aggressive remarks. These included comments such as, "You clearly haven’t stayed in a camping barn before" and "You’re probably used to sleeping on the floor," along with a pointed remark that the space was "not as clean as when you arrived." These comments were made while she looked us up and down and hovered behind us from the kitchen to the sleeping area. Despite our efforts to leave the barn as we found it—including my friend spending a considerable amount of time vacuuming the carpets with the handheld hoover provided—her attitude suggested she had already formed a negative opinion of us. This was particularly frustrating given that the property itself had a noticeable smell of damp and mold, and there were cobwebs that appeared to have built up over a long period—none of which we had any issue with, but which contradicted her implication that we had somehow left the place dirty. We were nothing but polite, respectful, and friendly during our stay, so the treatment we received felt unfair and uncomfortable. Based on a previous review from February describing a similar experience, we suspect that non-local guests may be treated differently. Unless you are from the local area, I would advise considering other accommodation options to avoid being treated as though you are unwelcome or a nuisance. Though we came from the north east so not exactly foreigners which I imagine this woman also has issues with given the review from February from another person citing the same experience. Suggestion for the host is maybe work on your people skills and manners.

The location is fantastic for those who wants to go to the waterfall, its just right behind the accommodation. It is also very convenient as bus stop is available outside of the accommodation place.

The bed is acceptable, but for some people, it may be too soft.
