Pondok Aldi Hostel

location & staff (the two women) were amazing!

After my first night in the dorm, 3 other guests left in the morning because their beds were infested with bed bugs. The hotel owner showed no understanding and did nothing about it. Luckily, I didn't have anything in my bed, so I stayed because I had already booked some dives and didn't have time to change hostels. Unfortunately, on my last night, my luck ran out and I had an invasion of bed bugs. Countless small ones, large ones... on my bed, on the wall, on my curtain. They had now spread to the whole dorm and so all the other dorm residents were plagued by them all night and instead of sleeping, we killed masses of bed bugs. They were everywhere, including on the floor, on the walls, just everywhere - the whole room needs to be thoroughly cleaned!! When I pointed this out the next morning, the owner responded politely and immediately refunded me for the last two nights, but unfortunately I didn't get the impression that he was taking the problem seriously and my gut feeling tells me that nothing will be done about it now either. To score the hostel only with one point is just because of the bed bug situation and the ignorant behavior of the owner. Now I have to thoroughly clean the entire contents of my backpack and hope that I can get rid of it.

Bed are comfortable and private. The bathroom was good. The breakfast so good :) best banana pancake that I ate in Bali. And Juni is friendly and helpful! People mentioned about the lack of social spaces but I met people everyday over breakfast

The staff was very nice and it is close to the nice restaurants and beaches

There were bed bugs in my bed in the dorm. When I tried to find somebody from the hostel at the reception nobody was there. Finally I got in contact with the owner and he said there were no other beds and he didn’t really care. I told him that he need to fix it and after a while he arranged a room that was still available for me. In the room he told me I had to pay extra for the airconditioning in the room, I thought that was really weird. The next day I didn’t feel comfortable about the way he handled the whole situation, so I wanted to talk with him about getting my money back and look how he’ll react. He really didn’t care about the situation and blamed everybody except the hostel itself and the bad hygiene. I don’t have the feeling he while do anything about the bed bugs in the room. So I would NOT recommend to book a room in this hostel!

Comfy bed, good ac in the dorm. Good privacy. Friendly staff.

Sheet was dirty and ripped. Bathrooms smelt bad. No place to hangout. Next to road so busy

I like everything about the hostel but breakfast was not my favorite , but other than that everything was perfect

Booked this place for one night, but after few hours I found bed bugs on the privacy curtain, left and havent slept there. Otherwise hostel was looking nice and staff was very friendly.
