Good location , clean and comfortable room. Lovely check in and friendly staff.

The kitchen and bathrooms were tidy enough and ok but in need of a good deep clean.

The setting is great, the lodge has a youth hostel feel and the building has a fascinating history. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the host couldn’t have been more welcoming. As a base for exploring the Catlins at a reasonable cost, I really recommend it.

It’s a well worn building, plenty of character and charm but if you are expecting perfection and luxury this isn’t the place. The matrons suite was a great size but the kitchen was a little musty. Hard to find things I didn’t like to be honest.

This place was disgusting honestly. - The property was very old and badly maintained . We were 4 adults and 2 children. The wooden floor was broken at a place and one of the kids cut his foot and started bleeding . Talking about safety and health hazards! - The door knobs were coming into your arms when trying to open them giving a scare to children about being locked inside. - The furniture including beds were very old and uncomfortable. - The windows were not being able to be shut properly to avoid air escaping inside. - There was only one woman in charge of the whole property and she was extremely busy and sounded cross while responding to queries. - No replenishment of items like soap, Toilet paper etc and we had to walk downstairs to request for them. - In short we had booked 3 months ago through Booking. Com and we were treated like campers rather than full paying guests. This was shockingly apathetic experience during a New Year break. Wonder how Booking.com manages to advertise such properties in their website. I am an old member of your group and now seriously considering quitting . Wonder if you have anything to say about compensating for our pathetic experience. Kindly revert.

Clean bathroom and toilet

Good heating in room. Friendly staff. Several lounges and pool table, games and darts. High-quality carpet and mattress.

Shower temperature hard to control. Kitchen well equipped but one of the frypans was buckled. Not enough car parks for busy times.

Finally, somewhere that gives you enough milk for a coffee.
