The Outpost Dullstroom

The warm welcome and the outstanding service of our host. Lovely and cozy houses with everything you need. Cozy open-plan kitchen, dining room and living room in the family house where everyone could laugh and chat with each other. Truly amazing.

Nothing to complain.

The cottage was absolutely spotless with a fully stocked kitchen from dog dishes to wine glasses. Heaters, extra blankets, firewood, firelighters and electric blankets were also provided. The location was perfect with horses roaming freely (although they didn't come near us) and lovely scenic walks around the farm. The small dam was a few steps away from the front door providing spectacular views. The hosts were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Our little doggie was very happy with all the space she had to run.

Due to the heavy rain some of the plugs tripped. WiFi was not good.

Nice farm house that has been well brought up to date. Very comfortable facilities.

The location was lovely, out on a farm but close enough to Dullstroom town to enjoy the best of both. The amenities inside the house are great. Has a lot of potential.

Unfortunately, the WiFi was not working when we arrived and we also did not have hot water. The hot water issues was fixed but by the second night the Wifi was still not working, manager eventually brought someone in to fix it. When cooking breakfast and wanting to use the oven we found a very dirty oven pan, smelly and still in the oven, so clearly it had not been cleaned or checked after the last guests. As a personal preferance the beds are to soft, but that really is just our opinion. They provide a gas braai but did not check gas levels and we ran out of gas half way through our braai. The kids jungle gym needs a few repairs. Lastly, when we arrived we spent arround 30mins picking up peoples cigarrette buds in the enclosed garden as we have a 14month old and two dogs who can easily pick them up and eat them, besides the safety concerns its very unpleasant arriving at a place and seeing such a mess which no one bothered cleaning.

The quietness is amazing. The house was big and spacious enough for 8 adults. The on-site manager was very accommodating and hands-on. We were the only guests on the farm and she allowed us to play music until late.

Property does not offer any other facilities other than horse riding. There is only one toilet which is a big problem. It is a bit too far from town so if you don't have food supplies, you are stuck. No hiking, canoeing or any other activities as advertised on booking.com. Water is a problem. Some of the guests couldn't bath or shower on the last day before checking out.
