Amazing rooms, exceptional value for money. The staff were so helpful in booking our onward travel and even picked us up from the bus station on arrival. Very comfortable beds and hot showers, the room even had a smart TV to watch Netflix.

It was amazing and Jane is very helpful and considerate.

The location is very bad as it’s not close to anything at all. Felt like I was trapped in a complex

The staff were very friendly and helpful! They helped us book a car to the airport. The room was very clean and nice as well.

Jane (the owner) went above and beyond with accommodating an English group of 6. We stayed in the mixed dormitory and found a comfortable amount of privacy. Jane booked our taxi to and from the hostel for a very reasonable price making the stay a lot less stressful for us. The facilities were very good. Would highly recommend the sauna. Breakfast accomodated for most of the group with no issues at the small charge of 35,000 VND (£1.12). The hostel is situated in the “Beverly Hills of Ha Long” complex which had a football pitch, pool, security and a lovely view. A cheap taxi into the centre of Ha Long cost roughly 20,000 VND (£0.65). We would highly recommend the walk through the streets of Ha Long down to the beach (30 mins away) - however avoid at night. Finally Jane offers a 6 hour boat tour of the islands in Ha Long bay for 800,000 VND (£25.60) per person. This was an amazing experience that you simply cannot miss. Including a cave tour, kayaking and a short hike to the top of a mountain, we thought it was well worth the cost. Lunch provided and snacks on the boat. If you’re looking for a stress free trip to Ha Long bay, all 6 of us would highly recommend BBQ hostel Ha Long 2 and Jane’s hospitality.

A few minor hidden costs but no big deal. Breakfast was a little small and felt ourselves constantly buying snacks to get us through the day.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, excellent interiors. Place was very cleanly maintained.

Adorable staff, really confortable room

The neighborhood is super artificial and not really nice with no life at all, the pictures on the presentation are tricky: big swimming pool is not on the property itself but close to a huge road + need to pay to access it… kind of a scam on this point I felt. Also sauna you need to pay extra to use it.

Jane was lovely and extremely helpful. She arranged our boat trip and transfers to the hostel. Couldn’t have had a better host. The room was so lovely and we were able to watch Netflix on the TV (we’ve been travelling for a month so was nice to be able to veg out and relax a bit).

The location literally a ghost town so would recommend booking activities/ renting a bike which you can do through the hostel. Laundry is expensive.

The rooms were very clean, good place to take a rest. The host was a very nice lady, who helped us with many things, like getting breakfast in time, (better) alternative transportation to our next place. She even borrowed us her scooter to find an ATM.

The part of the city was very quiet, when we arrived at 6.00 pm there was nothing available in the area for eating. No shops, just empty hotels.
