Porã Chacahua

Wunderschöner Ort, der mit sehr viel Liebe kreiert wurde. Es wird hier im Einklang mit der Natur gelebt und der Natur sehr viel Sorge gegeben. Alex und die Volunteers sind unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich habe 5 Nächte in einem Tippi gebucht und nochmals um 6 Nächte verlängert. Es ist der perfekte Ort, um zur Ruhe zu kommen. Man kann selber kochen, jeden Tag den Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang schauen, apérölen, Spikeball spielen, in den Hängematte chillen, mit dem Bodyboard auf den Wellen reiten, kilometerlang spazieren, ohne einem anderen Menschen zu begegnen, wenn man Glück hat, kann man auch Wale spotten. Wenn ich das Paradies beschreiben würde, dann so. Ich werde definitiv wieder kommen und den Ort wärmstens empfehlen.

Mich hat es nicht gestört, aber man sollte sich bewusst sein, dass man die Küche erst ab 11:30 Uhr benutzen darf. Es wird aber sehr leckeres Frühstück von 8-11 Uhr für wenig Geld angeboten. Zudem sollte man wissen, dass die Unterkunft eher weit weg vom Zentrum ist, was mir persönlich aber sehr gefallen hat. Zu Fuss ins Zentrum sind es ca. 45 Minuten zu Fuss am Strand entlang. Stündlich fährt aber auch ein Collectivo für 1 Euro.

Lo mejor es el vibe del hostal. Gente joven, personal super simpático, amigable y con ganas de emprender y mejorar. Montaron una noche bbq de pescado y eso fue lo mejor Desayuno muy rico Cabañas acogedoras

Está a media hora andando del pueblo. Y si no aparece un colectivo ( que nos paso varias veces) es un camino largo bajo el sol. No tienen restaurante pero tienen una cocina y todo preparado para que puedas cocinar

Pora was incredible. The tipis were just the right size for me and my friend to be able to sleep and live for two days. The site was breathtaking and clearly loved by the whole team. Alex was such a friendly host and so were the other volunteers at pora. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and showing us a slice of Chacahua we never expected to experience!

I think this is what people refer to as heaven on earth. It’s paradise in very sense of the word. Book your stay now and don’t think twice about it. The location is a bit out of the way and the transportation is dependent on combis in town that pass every hour and only operate from 7 to 5. Or you can walk to town which is roughly 40 minutes. Knowing those details, still very worth the extra distance to get away from the noise in town. The tipis are perfect and cool down at night. The sound of the waves will take you away every night and lift you right up every morning. The vibe of the place is entirely peaceful and tranquil and can spend all day wasting away in a hammock. Want an undisturbed beach walk? No problem. Kilometers and kilometers of beautiful beach await you. The bioluminescent water and sand will blow you away and make for an amazing real life movie at nighttime. The staff are super friendly and attentive. Maria and Rene do an excellent job at ensuring your stay is every bit peaceful and relaxing. Also shout out to Tara from Greece for her great hospitality. Seriously, don’t waste time looking for a cheaper place. Just come prepared with everything you need (food AND CASH) and you won’t have to move the entire time you’re there. You will wish you didn’t have to leave by the end of it.

I hate to say this, but it must be shared in the spirit of transparency and knowledge for future travelers and improvement by Pora. The kitchen is not open from 8 to 12 as the staff prioritizes making and selling breakfast for guest who choose to pay for breakfast. Breakfast is not expensive by any means. But as a backpacker, every Dollar/Euro/Peso count. I would recommend opening a bit sooner so those who wake up early enough can atleast make coffee or tea and toast for breakfast and catch the sunrise. Secondly, I would highly recommend Pora either get a larger refrigerator, or buy a second refrigerator. When the hostel is packed with guests, the fridge also gets packed, causing it to lose its potential to get cold enough and remain cold enough. I lost a few perishable items such as cheese, milk and some meat products because the fridge would not stay cold enough through constant opening and closing of the door as people get their food. Outside of those two things, pure magic at Pora.
