Mother Hostel

Un'esperienza locale! Al piano terra ci vive la famiglia che gestisce la struttura e nei piani superiori ci sono stanze degli ospiti, pertanto è come vivere nella stessa casa. Per chi non ha troppe pretese credo sia una soluzione economica e vicina ai maggiori punti di interesse. La struttura è datata ma ha anche una camera recentemente ristrutturata, la cosa positiva è che ogni camera ha il bagno privato e alcune camere hanno l'aria condizionata. Il punto forte è sicuramente Gaurav il ragazzo che ci ha guidato per tutto il soggiorno a Varanasi dandoci sempre preziosi consigli! Se dovessi tornare a Varanasi mi affiderei sicuramente a lui!

Struttura facile da raggiungere vicinissimo al Gange e ai punti d'interesse di Varanasi. Vicina anche a bar e ristoranti. Siamo arrivati in anticipo rispetto al check in e ci hanno preparato subito la stanza

Bathroom wasnt the most hightech, but everything was clean and worked!

A big shoutout to Mr. Gaurav, the owner and caretaker of the hostel. In truth, I booked a room for my father (a senior citizen traveling alone for the first time to Varanasi) and he was of the opinion that Mr. Gaurav was a wonderful host who looked after his every needs and was forthcoming. The hostel is well located too.

This hostel is very well located, 2 minutes from the ghats and close to restaurants. The hostel though it is close to the busy alleyways by the ghats is quiet all day and offers a place to relax. The family are very welcoming and offer all the assistance you may need.

The location is great if you want to be in the touristy area (very close to Dashashwamedh Ghat where the ceremonies happen every night at sunset). But it is also good to know that you will be located in a busy place at times with lots going on (Varanasi style - cows, dogs, monkeys, motorbikes etc). We had monkeys visiting our room window everyday. The window didn't have glass and for that reason it was always open, however it had grills so no monkey could enter the room. That didn't bother us.

For Indian standards, the room was quite comfortable, however the bathroom should be deep cleaned! If the room and bathroom were spotless, the value for money would be great. There is a bird and a dog in the house that would wake us up at night. I hope this is a constructive review so the owners can take action :)

Decent location

The elderly man was ok but most of the owners made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome and were rude. You’re basically staying in a family’s house which you have to go through every time you enter and exit. Also the doors are locked at 11.30 so you basically have a curfew time or you’ll be locked out. And if you want to go for a sunrise boat ride you wake people who are sleeping in the living room and make the dog bark. I felt like an inconvenience. Also no AC

Very well located as nearby many point of interests from the town. We have been warmly welcomed by the host and his family. The room it self is clean and comfy, the common area upstairs is perfect to relax and meet some other travellers. If you are looking for a place to feel home and quiet to enjoy peacefully your stay this is the one!
