Wake Up Weligama

Manesh is the best hostel owner!! He is so kind and organised so many activities- mostly not drinking focused which was amazing- surfing, cycling, ice bath, movie night, family dinner…! There is a real family feel to the hostels, the rooms are a good size, AC good and has all the facilities you need! I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun time in Weligama

Nothing- stay here!

It is a nice and social hostel, there are many things organised like, game nights, movie nigt, family dinner, surfing together etc. Rooms are big, and there is a locker for the important stuff

The mattress is thin, but i still had a good bight sleep

Very sociable and lots of opportunities to join in

The room was incredibly hot, toilet flush wasn’t fully functioning.

We were not given the private room we booked and instead brought down the road to another villa which had a tiny, hot room with a shared bathroom & the WiFi didn’t work. Think that they just accidentally over booked the place but still it was not a great experience and we didn’t decide to extend the stay. I will add that the owner gave us a nice discount on the room we did end up getting but it was weird not staying in the hostel we booked as we were there for the social aspect.

Seriously the best place If you’re looking for a low key group of friends. The owner organized surf outing in the day, movie nights or some parties at other places. Also had a group chat for everyone and orders food family style often. Super cool chill vibes definitely recommend

Only stayed 2 nights but had to switch rooms which was a bit inconvenient but all good

Spent 4 nights here and will hopefully be back! Good place to have a quiet but social time, the owner is a young cool guy, no stress at wake up weligama. Little kitchen, great location.
