"Rustig, fijn verblijf"

We had a really nice stay in Greenhead hotel. We had originally booked the hostel, but after we booked, a big group booked the rest of the hostel, so we got offered a free upgrade to the hotel. The breakfast options were great!

I would say the only minor point was that even though the room didn't let in a lot of noise, it was through the door that we could listen to every conversation held in the hallway.

"Good value if you stay in the hostel and eat in the hotel - great for walking the Pennine Way"

7.0

Hotel and hostel are on opposite sides of the old main road, now very quiet due to the trunk road which baypasses the town. Three cask ales in the bar were fine, food was excellent both evening meal and breakfast (£15!), service good. Beer is a bit pricey, but spirits were a bargain. Large carpark and small beer garden at the rear The hostel was fine and good value - we had a triple room with a small bathroom nearby, and there is a larger room of showers and wcs downstairs/upstairs for men/women. All fine, especially when it was fairly empty, might be more frustrating when it’s full/busy, but the hostel is fine and cheap with a decent hotel/pub over the road. Buses to/from Haltwhistle (nearest train station) stops outside

The meal and drinks in the hotel were great, but a bit pricy

"Very Good"

7.0

Great location, easy check in and check out process, the staff were lovely and helpful. It was definitely a bonus having the pub over the road - we had an evening meal and breakfast, both meals were great. The hostel itself had a big kitchen area which was clean and tidy and a large living area with sofas, a dart board, a pool table etc. Our room was also clean and tidy.

The shower in the shared bathroom was broken so it wouldn’t stay up on the wall and there was a broken plug socket in our room. Could be a little bit noisy overnight when people were using the shared bathroom as we were very close to it. In comparison to other places we have stayed it didn’t feel as good value for money.

"Very convenient first stopping place on our Hadrian's Wall walk."

7.0

No breakfast at the hostel, but convenient link to hotel opposite.

We were warned to take room key with us as the door locked automatically, but this was difficult to remember when using the shared bathroom at night. Was it really necessary to have such locks?
