Waitomo Homestead Cabins

My cabin had a very nice view over the cow pasture, with sunset and a beautiful sky at night. It had heated up in the sun during the day and was still warm in the evening which was great at this time of the year.

No towels provided! It's the only private room in NZ I've ever stayed where you have to bring your own. I had one of the cabins furthest away from the highway but you could still hear it a bit. It's not in walking distance to the Waitomo caves or other places, so you definitely need a car to get around. Overall, it's a bit expensive for what you get.

No one there for when we wanted to check in. Staff not available when we arrived and it wasn’t late

The ability to close the windows, no screens on the windows so bugs got in, lack of response from the after our service when the smoke alarm went off at 2am. Lack of hand soap and mirror.
