Waitomo Homestead Cabins

Leuke hutjes, maar als je niet achterop het park zit is het geluid van de naastgelegen weg erg luid.

Ik had geen licht in mijn hutje, heb dit aangegeven bij de receptie en die gaven aan er wat aan te doen. Dat is echter niet gebeurd, waardoor ik met een zaklamp moest werken. Alles is aan vernieuwing toe.

We were expected to check in at 4pm, and arrived at 5pm after delays travelling from Wellington. The after hours number on the blackboard at The Homestead was not answered at all. We were in Waitomo for 2 days. There were no lock boxes or keypads to access the rooms. Feeling entirely ripped off after having to pay for 2 nights somewhere else, because the room was unavailable. Clearly this is not something to like.

Liked the cabin itself, porch and facilities.

That the office/store/everything onsite closed at 4pm. No place to put your bags in the cabin/nothing but a bed...there was room for a shelf or even a suitcase stand and chair but nothing...just empty floor space.

Quiet and picturesque location. Location suited purpose of our stay

Our room had no hot water which was rectified by giving us a key to an adjacent room to shower there. Room had kitchenette with cutlery plates, jug toaster but no cups or glasses. There was no mirror in the room. Bedding was cheap and inadequate for the price we paid.
