Coliving & Cafe SANDO

The dorm room, showers, bathrooms, and kitchen were very clean. There was a secure place to leave bicycles overnight. The common room was bright and cosy and a great place to relax. There is a large well stocked grocery store and farmers market nearby. If you are biking the Shimanami Kaido, follow the “Island Explorer” path and be prepared for some rolling hills.

While the dorm itself was very quiet, it is next to the family room. Depending on how lively your fellow guest are, you may find the free ear plugs handy.

Quiet, clean hotel in a friendly small town. All the amenities you’d expect at a modern Japanese hotel. Bicyclist friendly for Shimanami Kaido riders.

Limited food menu, but unsurprising for the somewhat remote location.

The Sando Guesthouse was the best hostel in 4 weeks; a great place, a warm welcome, friendly staff and guests, no noise in the dorm, extremely nice wooden furniture, very clean and if you head for breakfast: the Café is wonderful too! Besides, it is a very charming village, too.

ドミトリーだったが、カーテンがついていてプライバシーが守られる形だった。 シャワールームや洗面台などの水回りも清潔だった。 朝ごはんも美味しかったです！

Loved our double bed, it was very comfortable. The shared shower was quite good.

Please expect to hear some noise at night since this is a classic (though modernised) Japanese house; the single glaze window glass also means it can get chilly, but there is heating and warm covers.

It does the job, is clean and the people are nice. Coffee from the cafe is cheap and good!

Doesn’t have like a proper chill area. Only a workspace with 2 chairs and downstairs you sit in a dark small kitchen. Would be better to have a couch or anything somewhere. Most people cycle the whole day so they wanna chill after..
