Banana Bunks Kandy

Hostel is very nice and clean. Around the hostel there is a lot of plants, looks like mini jungle but it is very cute and calm (except if you are afraid of lizards or bugs, since you will see and hear them). There is a nice pool which I didn't swim in due to rainy weather but I did chill on sunbeds next to it. Staff was very kind, especially Tharindu and one older man whose name I don't remember :) I had english breakfast one morning and it was very good, but egg benedict I had the other morning was amazing. Hosts made me Sri Lankan coffee on my last day on the house and it was delicious <3

Outdoor spaces were nice.

Black mold and heavy damp smell in the bunk room. Staff were well aware of the issues and kept asking if the hotel was nice. No alternative offered until we said we were leaving. Do not stay here. It's not healthy.

Achtung Bettwanzen! Wir haben in der ersten Nacht Bettwanzen im Private Room entdeckt und mussten mitten in der Nacht die Unterkunft wechseln. Im zweiten Private Room, der uns angeboten wurde, saß eine lebendige Kakerlake auf dem Bett. Zuvor hatten wir im ersten Private Room schon eine tote Kakerlake unter der Matratze gefunden. Der Mitarbeiter vor Ort hat uns versprochen, dass wir eine Rückerstattung für die 2 gebuchten Nächte erhalten, mit dem Management telefoniert und alles im Check In Buch notiert. Am nächsten Tag wusste dann plötzlich niemand mehr davon und wir sind auf unseren Kosten sitzen geblieben. Auch den Fall, den ich über Booking eröffnet habe, wurde einfach dreist ignoriert. Banana Bunks war die einzige Unterkunft, die eine Vorauszahlung wollte - im Nachhinein klar warum. SCAM!

Wir waren zwei Nächte in einem „Deluxe Zimmer“ im Banana Bunks, welches gut ausgestattet war und einen tollen kleinen Garten hatte. Die Pfanzendusche war auch sehr schön, obwohl alles schon ein bisschen abgenutzt wirkte. Der Pool und das Restaurant waren ebenfalls sehr schön. Und hat zudem die ruhige Lage abseits der Stadt gut gefallen, da es schön ruhig war. Ein Tuktuk in die Stadt kostete weniger als 1 Euro. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

Die Zimmer waren sehr hellhörig. Ein Moskitonetz überm Bett wäre hilfreich gewesen. Frühstück war gut, allerdings gab es keinen Kaffee und an der Bar war das Bier nicht richtig kalt.

We stayed in the private room and it was absolutely beautiful! Tharindu and the rest of the staff was also very kind and helpful. Would highly recommend for Kandy for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

It is a bit secluded and you need to take an uber/tuktuk to the city centre, but it was a very easy and cheap 10 min ride. Did not bother us, but good to be aware of.

Wij kwamen eerst in een zeer kleine kamer maar kregen vrij snel een hele mooie kamer toegewezen met buiten douche en tuin. De ligging is super en sfeervol. De tuktuk rijden Sinna is een aanrader

Ligt een beetje afgelegen.
