Room was very cold but fine once you’re in bed.

wonderful staff! Helpful and informative, they spoke English well, and were very welcoming. Very clean facilities. Purified water available in the communal kitchen.

the staff is what made this property stand out!! upon arrival greeted with a warm welcome and the kind lady at reception went through a local map with us highlighting the best places and also proving information how to get there and average costs. equally gave great tips about safety from pick pocketing! A nice view from the terrace kitchen, and clean property :)

we loved everything here. it is so comfortable and well run. On top of this, it is a hostal with a heart - Fernanda uses a percentage of the hostal’s income for charitable work with young children in hospital.

Love this place! It way exceeded our expectations! Great location within walking distance to Old Town. Room was large and clean. Lovely plaza right across the streets. Restaurants and shops nearby. Staff was wonderful and very helpful!

The rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast was good and only 4USD. The staff were really friendly and always happy to help. Central location and a short walk from the old town.

Staff are very friendly and the hostel is I'm a nice area. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The night before a tour I had booked a private double room for some comfort but was a bit annoyed to find I had been given a room with two single beds, own of which I could not use as I had a roommate the following night. This is not what I paid for or wanted. I heard another guy in the hostel had booked a 4 bed dorm but was given his own double bed room which seemed unfair giving the above. Breakfast is $4 extra which is a bit more than local prices. You get eggs, cereal.and breakfast but only one small bowl for both the cereal and the fruit which is a bit annoying, a separate bowl would not hurt. The communal toilet was out if order There is music played all day which can be a comfort or an annoyance depending on your opinion. There is wifi but it cuts out a lot. My/our door did not lock properly and the USB charger did not work.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I arrived early and was able to checkin upon arrival. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and outlined everything you need to see in Quito on a map. They organize tours to Quilotoa, Mindo, and Cotopaxi for $50 each and it was super easy to book through them. The location is solid, right off a main street about 10-15 min walking from Plaza Grande. The upstairs shared kitchen is clean and there is a water filter. Great value for the money.

It really matters to Fernanda that the hostel maintains the highest standards and this makes Casa CarpeDM a fantastic place to stay. Everything about it is great - the personal warmth, the professional help with local information and the care for every client.

The rooms facing the street get pretty loud, and we were the only guests, which was a shame, as we book places like this for the social aspect too
