The property is located relatively close to the downtown area and staff is very helpful with setting up activities. We did the Cotopaxi tour with them and had a wonderful time. They also allow you to have a late check out for only $10 which enables you to take a shower after your excursions :)

It was a bit loud at night but this was from the outside. Ear plugs worked great!

As stated in so many reviews the staff were amazing. the rooms were large and very clean. good breakfast. The hotel is about 10 minutes away from the historic centre.

The only thing - there was a lot of noise coming from the street. bring ear plugs and you will be fine. loud music is common in many places in Ecuador. we always travel with ear plugs.

Great hotel in the historic area and very close to the main attractions. The Staff were really friendly and were full of knowledge and recommendations, the room was comfortable and the wifi worked well.

The room is very bright, clean, and spacious enough for 4 beds only. And they are flat beds not bunk beds. The mattress is very soft. You can have a great view over the city on the top floor. I was astonished at the sunrise view and night view. The staff are amazing, always friendly, accommodating, and informative, and speak the best English. I booked a tour with them to the Inca market. But on the way back, the highway was blocked by a historic car accident. Finally, we reached the hostel at 12:00am instead of 7:00pm that night, but were warmly welcomed by the owner, who stayed up late just in order to open the door for us and made sure we were alright, and explained the next day itinerary. I really appreciate this.

I regret that I only had one night here. Next time, I should spend more nights.

Excellent location - close to historical centre and the central market. Carpedm also operates as a tour agency, which is really convenient for booking tours. I love the kitchen on the top floor for self-caterers, great view of a pretty chunk of the old town.

All the rooms have doors to the central space, which means you can hear everything - music, staff chatting, guests arriving. Luckily there is a curfew. Some rooms only have windows which open to the interior.

Serious mold problem in the bathroom, fan attached to the bathroom window doesn't work. Shower needs to be bleached. Loud street noises all through the night. Breakfast runs for 1 hour from 830am to 930am but most tours start before this time, why would you make breakfast at this time? No warning was given when we booked the city tour either so we ended up starving on the tour. Also, you are not allowed to sit in the dining area before 830am.. I thought this was a stupid policy, we are not in anyone's way. During the city tour, lunch was promised but we were not told it wasn't till 330pm until I complained that we were hungry. City tour was boring, I recommended skipping it and making your own way to the middle of the world museum.
