Chalo Eco Hostel

A very welcoming family hosts this hostel in Jaipur old town, set in an non-touristy area. A very authentic stay in old Jaipur. Dorm room is basic though, but bathroom with decent hot water. Nice rooftop to sit. The family is nice and showing you around in old town, explaining everything you need to know about culture and town, trying their best to give you an authentic experience of old Jaipur!

The area the hostel is located is non-touristy, authentic old town, so you have to walk a bit (through narrow lanes) to get to the hostel after your sightseeing day, esp. solo traveller might think of this (but people in the neighbourhood are very helpful and guide your way to the hostel place).

I cannot comment on the actual hostel and the quality of rooms or service since I did not actually check in to the place despite having made a booking. Unfortunately, the location is so dismal, it is impossible for any person to actually reach the hostel. It is not as close to the main attractions as it looks on the map. The actual neighborhood is extremely dirty, narrow, and crowded to the point of eliciting active disgust. It is not possible for a self-respecting person to subject themselves to that ordeal in order to find out if the hostel is worth it. Unless, you're a foreigner looking to indulge in poverty porn. I made my way to the locality and had to turn back because it was unimaginable to stay there. I felt unsafe as a lone woman in that neighborhood, full of trash, animals and filth. This is in no way an over-exaggeration, as I am a middle-class Indian who's aware of the usual state of Indian localities (which aren't as spic and span). This exceeds all of that. Again, I cannot comment on the actual property or the hosts, who might actually be quite nice. But in my opinion, the location alone makes it completely unworthy.

the facilities are not there, the reading lamp theres no bulb, charging points are broken, no lockers, no living area,

Very good service.... amazing friendly environment and yum food is provided. Quiet caring owners. the place is very homely. Do visit this place
