Nega Maluca Guesthouse

Diego (the owner) is so helpful, generous and kind. He takes care of all his guests, making sure we see the best places in the city. Even if I am a female solo traveller, I really felt safe with all his advices.

Diego is super kinda and is helpful to give lots of information and good recommendations for what to do/where to go/where not to go etc. the common areas were also nice and the wifi worked well and the location was perfect. They also clean the bathrooms every day so it was kept very clean. Overall I enjoyed my stay bc of the vibes (chill but familiar and social at the same time) and location and I felt safe there. I would stay again.

The dorm rooms are a little worn down, for example the plug and light by my bed did not work

The staff is really nice, try to make your trip as smooth as they could ! The location is great and safe, if you are interested in the history of Salvador and the music of the city, you'll be well suit ! You'll miss something for sure if you pass through this city and don't stop at Nega Maluca Guest house !

Excellent spot. Well-located on the edge of Pelourinho in Santo Antônio bairro. The Diego, Gustavo, and the rest of the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Diego even gave some pretty niche things to visit and experience in the city. I won’t spoil those here though… better to visit and learn for yourself!

The hostel was pretty vacant when I visited, but it was admittedly in the off-season of tourism here in Salvador. I don’t have any qualms with the hostel itself. I will say, Pelourinho can be hit or miss to walk around at night, so keep your wits.

Yuho and diego were so nice and helped with everything i asked for, and the vibe in the hostel was great and cozy. Great chill zone

I really liked the common area at nega luca, good mix of indoor and outdoor space and was easy to meet other travelers.
