Dream Ville

Perfect spot for relaxing! Great view and accommodation! Hosts are really nice and helpful!! Although you are sleeping outside, I wasn’t freezing during night and there were no mosquitos or other bugs!

The place is just brilliant! The owner is so friendly and open-minded. Furnishings with attention to detail and the view mega Worth every trip! I'll be back when I'm in Sri Lanka. See you again Sham :)

Our stay at Dream Ville was exactly like the name.. a dream. The hostel is beautiful and has a stunning view. We really enjoyed our stay there and would 100% recommend it to our friends. The owner really helped us with everything and especially with the transport to Elle and to Mirissa. Because it is more or less 30 minutes from Elle and the road is quite bad, it can get pretty hard finding a tuktuk to take you there. She contacted us before we arrived so she could send us a tuktuk to pick us up. The drive is pretty adventurous but I really enjoyed it. The hostel owner asked us to share her number, so guests could contact her more easily +94 (77) 791 8001 All in all we loved it there and stayed 4 nights to rest a little. It was the perfect place for that. If you like to be more busy and see a lot of things in Elle, maybe that’s not the perfect place for you.

The water pressure in the shower could be little better. It took a while to wash my hair.

I love the vibe of the hostel. A nice place to chill, the owner is really kind as well. She does everything and helped me plan stuff. If you're looking for a break from traveling this is the perfect place to be. Nice to work as well but bad signal in the evening.

The people create a warm community where you will want to keep on extending your stay. The view is breathtaking and it's a peaceful place half an hour drive from center Ella. For fun evenings there is even a karaoke machine and a fireplace for cozy evenings and a small pool. Even the toilet has a breathtaking view!

Nothing but what's good to know is that the last 500 meters to Dreamville are very difficult to do by bike unless you have an adventurous spirit or are an experienced driver. You can also ask Sham to sent a Tuktuk driver which will cost you 2500 SLR from Ella center to Dreamville.

This place is amazing! It looks like an Hawaiian paradise with the best views of Ella! The host makes sure that everything is well arranged. She makes breakfast and diner for everybody if you want, arranged Tuktuk’s and busses at every time of the day and makes sure that you have a great time.

The place is located a 30 minute drive out of town. But the drive itself is really cool and otherwise you won’t have those views. Also, it would be even better if there would be some hostel activities arranged.

Having just left Sri Lanka after nearly a month, I can confidently say that this was by far my favourite stay. I normally don't go for hostels with so few reviews, but the ones I read were so overwhelmingly positive, I couldn't help but give it a go... The hostel is so aptly named - when I arrived, it felt like I was dreaming. The views are stunning, the atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming and the hostel owners are two of the loveliest people I have ever met. At every opportunity, it felt like things got better and better - the gorgeous food, beautiful views (from bed!) at sunrise and a stunning hike to a waterfall straight from the hostel. There is even a little plunge pool to cool down in the hot weather. I recommended this hostel to many people throughout the rest of my trip in Sri Lanka, and every single one thanked me for helping them find Dream Ville...just book - you won't regret it! It is worth noting that Dream Ville is around 30 minutes from the centre of Ella by tuk tuk - which costs around 1500 rupees. I didn't find this at all an issue, and meant I could explore more of the local area, which was such an authentic experience.
