the staff was wonderful and it was a chill and quiet hostel. also in a GREAT location.

worst hostel sleep experience in a long time. this place needs to get a fan or two for every room. there’s no ventilation, so the rooms are super hot, but worse are the mosquitos. the private room was so hot and buggy we wound up sleeping in the common room both nights… which was still buggy and hot, just less so. with fans, this place would become much more comfortable.

Great atmosphere, super cozy living-room, lovely neighbourhood and very friendly volunteers. It really feels like home!

The 8 bed dorm has no windows. There is 1 fan but the air gets veeeery think in the night. Suggestion: more fans/a fan for every bed. My bed had no ladder and I had to get up and down with a climbing-action. Upper bed had no electricity to charge phone. When the person under me turned, the bed was shaking so hard, it felt like an earthquake of level 5. I guess for the person beneath me it was the same, when I turned. I have stayed in hostels the past 9 months and this was the most unstable bed I have slept in. Does not match the price for me as beds are (other than windows) sth you can fix/replace.

great location on a quiet street, close to everything, staff fairly helpful

the room was extremely hot, no ventilation and a noisy fan. the facilities are overall very dated and in need of a refurb. it does have a homely feel but not much atmosphere. certainly not lively. for the price, which is on the higher end , I expect better

Stayed twice in this hostel, the first time a full week. Location is great in my favorite neighbourhood La Roma. Staff is adorable, particularly the voluntaries. Cleaning done regularly (can’t help people who don’t know how to behave in a bathroom…) and nice general guest atmosphere.

That being said it’s the most expensive hostel I stayed in during my 2 months in the country (more than 900$ incl taxes for 2 nights in a 8 bed-dorm without windows, curtains or individual lights) and for me the quality-price ratio is not justified. Shower temperature is impossible to control, my first week 3 lockers were out of service and were not fixed during that week (an alternative solution was offered with a closed closet but it’s annoying to have to disturb someone to get the key every time you want to get your computer), and the last time I was here the fridge was out of service. Dorm rooms doors don’t really close that well so in the morning you can hear all the noise from the hallway. All in all I’ll join in some latest commentaries saying that’s it’s a nice house but it needs some serious maintenance work like now.

Amazing staff, amazing location, clean and tidy, and the free tea and coffee is a nice touch.

Such a shame that because of the layout of the property, my 8 bed dorm had no ventilation or windows. It was fine going to bed but by 1am every night with 8 bodies breathing and sweating I couldn’t breathe. I did have a sore throat beforehand, to be fair, but the stink of that room at night with no air flowing in was awful. I ended up sleeping on the sofa in the living room just to be near a window
