Iguana Hostel Oaxaca

I loved the activities proposed: the salsa lesson, the sun rising and sunset ballads, the happy hours (the barman talked about the mezcal with passion and shared his knowledge), .. The staff at the reception was great! The clean lady was sweet: always smiling to the guests even if doesn’t seem to be easy for her to get what she needed.

I didn’t like the breakfast: not a good atmosphere, no good welcoming (no smile from the woman , no chats, only the token talk a bit military) and the size of the breakfast was too short and not so tasty (the count of the number of 4 bananas pieces and if we asked more it was often a « no » and sometimes not even warm enough.

The people that were staying here were very nice and friendly.

The value I could have gotten a single room with my own bathroom and TV in a better location for the same price instead of sharing a room with 3 other people.

The common areas were lovely, with multiple places you could socialise or relax. The breakfast and location were also fantastic! The hostel organised many activities as well, so there was always something to do.

The showers had a very low pressure and sometimes the WiFi didn't work that well.

There was nothing wrong with this hostel but it was not for me. The dorm is a raised platform with mattresses separated by hanging sheets offering zero noise and light protection. Location is great and the staff were very helpful. There’s a good community buzz.

The hostel is amazing! It's cute and clean, there are curtains around the bed, so you kinda have a small room for yourself and don't have to change like a contortionist on your bed or in the bathrooms. The breakfast is good and changes every day, and there's free water. The staff is amazing, and make the vibe very nice for everyone who's staying there! If you're looking for a party hostel this is not your place, if you're looking for a very social and chill one, this is THE place! The hostel organizes free activities both at the hostel and at a nearby bar.

Sometimes a bit loud because of the open court but on the rooftop they turn off the music at 23.00h
