Hostel Swastik

Price was very good and has good location, because Bhaktapur is small and is not in the very center, but in a quiet area. Nice people working there.

Beds were small (I'd say 1,7m long): for me it was enough, but... The hostel is just besides a lake so is quite humid in summer, and the rooms were hot during the day (no problem sleeping at night, though, as the temperature drops). There were no bar/restaurant at the hostel although it says so in the description. Maybe because it was low season, I don't know. They only served coffe or tea.

The owner of the hostel is the nicest and most chill guy we have met so far. The whole vibe of the hostel is absolutely relaxed and welcoming. The owner would give you recommendations for restaurants in the area, and they would always be amazing. If you visit Bakthapur, I would recommend this hostel!

All about the adorable owner Bisou. He is in the hostel lounge every day to help the traveller. He shares all he knows about his town. Such as: Where to eat the best vegi burger. Where to eat momo. How to get to chanduralayang by public bus. How to plan a 2 day trip to Panauti and stay in namobudda temple. Follow him! Then you have the best and authentic experience in Nepal.

Kitchen is not accessible. But that’s fine. You got Bisou recommendation to eat cheap and delicious food in the town.

Staff and owner of the hostel really make the place, the vibe is super chill. I just planned to stay a few nights and just kept extending! There is also access to a rooftop accross the road from the hostel where you can chill, do some yoga (there is a spare yoga mat) and one night we had a rooftop BBQ. Also the movie room is super nice.

There is just one fan in the room and it gets a little hot at night (but this was only an issue near the end if my stay because the weather became super hot)
