Good location close to town

The whole place looks worn, beds are terrible

Nice hostel with inviting garden space

This is the place to unwind and let the Takaka spirit flow. :) Comfy rooms and beds, chilly atmosphere, super friendly and relaxed host, and the cleaning crew is always up to speed. I even prolonged my stay.

Contrary to the description, it is no longer possible to rent a bicycle, unfortunately. But you can get one in town.

It's a cozy backpackers. Communication with staff was great, prior to as well as during the check in. They have a good lounge and courtyard. The facility is old, but they provide what you need for a very reasonable price. It is easy to find and walkable to shops and restaurants/cafes.

The only negative thing was that our room or bed or pillow or something smelled.

All you could want from a backpackers. Clean, tidy and a very cool spot.

Good kitchen facilities

Bunk room had people coming and going late at night. Little bit of snoring.
